She says that it bad fro the bunny's feet. What type of wire is it and is it removable.** A: Hi! I rescue rabbits, and I personally much prefer the wire - it is more sanitary, keeps them from sitting in their own filth, and makes cleaning much easier. Your daughter is correct though - rabbits can get sores on their feet and haunches from sitting on wire floors, but we usually only see that in rabbits that live their entire lives on wire with no option to rest their little feet anywhere else. If your rabbit has a nest box or somewhere else to relax that gives them a break from the wire, it should be completely fine. In the summer we like to give them a large smooth tile (like you can find at a home improvement store) in a corner of the hutch - gives them a place to relax, plus helps the cool off! (Just dont put it in direct sunlight - it will heat up fast - and make sure to wash it before giving it to your pet!) I don't own this exact model, but do have several similar ones. Just wanted to weigh in! **Q: Would this work for a regular sized Rex rabbit? She is almost 10lbs and we are moving, and she’s coming** A: I wouldn’t take the chance. Mine is 5lbs and she really can’t get to the second level due to the steepness of the ramp. There is only standing room on the one side of the cage as well. Mine is free range when I’m home so it works for now, but I will be getting her a new set up eventually.
