Small and Stylish, but Big on Quality and Features!
I have been doing a lot of different POE IP camera installs of many different brands, and this one is latest one I have just done using the Sunba 305-D4X. The camera uses POE to power it or the included power supply. I use POE all the time, but I bench tested it first with the included power supply. I used the wall mount bracket for the outside install to ensure the highest water resistance. Installation is a breeze using the VMS software that they provide. I didn't get a proper siding back plate from the local building supply store for mounting bracket on as I wanted to get it up quick and didn't feel like going to the store to buy it. I'll probably get the siding plate and update with a new photo of how it should have been done on wall mounting with siding. I have included pictures of the actual camera pictures. It is daytime color, but since we only have snow it makes it look Black & White, so its not the camera just what I have to work with in getting pictures to show you. I got a side shot to show color of edge of orange tractor bucket. Driveway shots are wide and zoomed in for the daytime shots. The IR shots have both wide and zoomed in at various angles. As you can see the night vision is very good. I can look all around the front yard using the VMS software or with my phone using XMEye application. The night shots are with outside air temperature around 5 degrees Fahrenheit. The camera has no issues panning or tilting at these low temperatures. I will try to possibly post some videos on the product later as I have ordered more to install in both the cold climate of North America and the hot humid climate of South America. To sum it up, it was easy to install and setup. The software has many tweaks and parameters to fit almost every need. You can run the software on your PC and use it as an NVR or use a Sunba NVR to capture all your cameras video. I would recommend the Sunba NVR which is very economical and works perfect with the Sunba product line. I have also used Sunba cameras with other manufactures NVRs using ONVIF. I will be reviewing the NVR later, so you may want to check that out too. This is truly an economical high quality PTZ camera with optical 4X zoom and impressive IR range. The IR range is where it is aimed and not a floodlight of IR, but you can see from the actual pictures of its actual performance. There is no dome, so there are no issues with any reflections at night. As to telling where the camera is aimed, it is hard to see when looking from a intruders point of view to where it is actually aimed unless you get near it, so its almost like having a dome camera without all the issues. It basically looks like a black rounded object. As to the cameras size you can see it in the pictures using the normal outdoor light fixture as a reference. The PTZ function allows for the perfect shot angles and you can change angles without having to go out and readjust the camera as you do it all electronically from the software. Also the 2 year warranty is a peace of mind.

Excellent for for it's price point.
I bought this to put up on the back corner of my house to get full coverage instantly of my back and side yard. The unit is small, nice and easy to put up, but I do wish it had a little water protection where the camera goes on to top bracket. I did mount it up as high as I could to enable the overhang of my roof to protect it from rain, but with all the electronics just under the top of the bracket mount I don't really feel it's protected as good as it should be. If it had an overlap of the plastic beyond the hole on the top of it much more than it does I would feel better about that, but time will tell. I have a Laview NVR (4k) and after I set the address of the camera to what my NVR was happy with and it connected flawlessly and even marked it as SUNBA on the viewing of it. It does have a nice but slight upward tilt but it's minimal degree compared to others they sell. With my fencing it's very nice to see over it with the upward tilt and is a huge selling point in my opinion. Due to the 2 gutter downspouts at the corner where I needed to mount it I had to put it lower than I would have liked to. As a result I can't see along walkway to the back door with it but my stationary camera has that covered as you see in photo. All photos you see here were taken with the camera up as high as it will go. As you can also see in the one photo I took I kept my cell phone at the same height as this Sunba PTZ camera so you can see how it can see mostly over the fence which is 8' tall. I do have a problem with focus though. In these photos the focus will be fine when zoomed out, but when I zoom in it is blurry and I have to manually focus it in and I have no clue why. To me there isn't enough fencing there when zoomed in to keep it from focusing. I also notice the saturation is weaker when zoomed in also as you can see in photos. It does focus fine when not zoomed in at all, and some angles will focus ok zooming in. The one photo is zoomed all the way back and the other is all the way in to show all of you how much zoom it has, and to me it is very accurately described and does have 4X optical zoom. The audio it receives is incredibly good also. I am going to buy the 601-25X for the front of the house when I find a great deal on one and will review that one also when that happens. Overall I am extremely happy with this for it's price point and highly recommend it!

Could just be a bad unit but there were enough problems I'll go with a different manufacturer
The camera could be seen by the Sunba VMS program but all settings icons were grayed out and I got the error "get config unknown error." Tried to access it directly with various browsers. I'm used to not being able to see an image due to archaic activeX controls, but I wasn't able to access a settings page using Chrome, Edge, or IE. I tried the smartphone app but it required ridiculous permissions including "make and manage phone calls." I really like the idea of full 360 degree PTZ control but there were enough problems that I'll go with a different manufacturer.

Difficult Set-Up with Surveillance Station and lack luster performance
I have installed IP Cameras since 2000. Bottom Line - this is a no frills IP Camera with two video streams Build: It is mostly all plastic and feels cheap. Mounting: You have two options and both are made of plastic. The ceiling mount is not recommended for outdoor use, any water will make its way right into the electronics as the top is not sealed. The ceiling mount has mounting holes for securing with an Ethernet entry point in the center. Since the connection is off center the cable must be bent and if your ethernet cable is stiff it will make attaching the camera to the mount more difficult. -- There is NO option to secure the camera to the mount it simply twist onto the mount with a plastic indent notch - Making this camera easy to steal. -- The wall mount has a removable plate at the rear or at the bottom to feed the network cable through, again no gaskets to seal the camera to the mount, it is engineered to direct the water over and around the camera. -- No other mounting hardware was included. Setup: You may use the supplied power adapter or use a POE injector for power. Most likely you will need SUNBAs VMS software to find the camera on your network - or log onto your home router and find attached devices. Browser Compatibility: works with IE (not edge) or Chrome with SUNBAs software plugin. The web interface does not offer all configuration options, you will need to use VMS software for that. Setting up the camera is mostly straight forward. ** Using a third party Synology Surveillance Station was problematic even though a pre-defined profile for this camera model was listed - it would not connect, forcing me to use the generic ONVIF settings ** Image Quality: This is a 1080P video camera with decent resolution and clarity - nothing spectacular. Night Vision: This camera has built-in IR LEDs and does a decent job out to about 35 feet. PTZ Function: As mentioned by others - it is annoying and unlike my other cameras. This camera while in PTZ mode can just run off and continue rotating until you click in the opposite direction. Firmware Support: SUNBA site list this model with a firmware download but I tried to update the firmware and got a "Hardware Failure". Making the product a limited use camera. Overall: For $149.00 don't expect too much as the overall operation of the camera is lacking. Due to the many issues, I do not recommend this product.

What a cool PTZ camera with great day/night vision, easy to install and operate
I made an error reviewing a previous PTZ version, this one is the corrected review of the Sunba 305-D4X PTZ PoE+. As I said in my earlier review, the camera was needed to assist a farm owner with monitoring sheep and goats giving birth, giving her hourly rest from having to walk 300 yards to monitor the birthing pens during critical times. At a glance in frigid, snowy, or rainy weather she was able to pan and tilt the camera, zoom in/out, and switch from SD to HD display effortlessly day and night to keep her new babies safe. She was not at all technologically savvy and loved the audio listen and talk features. For setups, Sunba Tech Support were relentless in making our particular situation work with a weak ethernet Poe+ signal and a pan function that was initially overdriving. Sunba techs worked remotely to adjust the encode function via bandwidth reduction to allow a smooth slow panning of the sheep and clear HD pictures. We cannot wait to install a second camera to allow us to see the 4 foxes that attack the chickens at night by tactically tiring out the guard dogs (with the first two fox "runners" to the point the remaining 2 well rested foxes swoop in like raptors and steal the chickens. Sunba PoE+ PTX cameras will once again give us farmland superiority.

Not Bad For The Money...
Like the title says, "Not bad for the money". The unit works great except the pan feature is a little jittery, especially on Tour/Patrol. Motor noise from the pan/tilt functions feeds through the mic element, which was anticipated, but was a little louder than expected. Picture quality is good, and the 4x zoom gives you a little more distance, but the optimal distance for this device appear to be around 75 feet night or day. The Tour/Patrol config settings seem to stay in memory when the device is powered off, however the Intelligent Alert settings reset with the device. The web embedded viewer settings reset with the NetSurvailance PC app, so you have to change them each time you start the app. Worked fine with my Great Wall and Amcrest NVR systems. For my application, this camera works fine, but if you're focus is distance or sustained patrol, I'd buy the better model which operates a little smoother. If you live in a harsh climate, as I do, you might want to cover it in some way for added protection... This is the best quality PTZ in this price range and I plan to purchase another.

Zoom
The zoom settings do not stay with the preset positions. If you set a preset position with a pan tilt zoom setting, if you change the zoom factor, all your presets have that zoom setting. Sunba says it was nessasary to make the camera high speed, witch it is not. It is slow, jumpy, and freezes for seconds often.

A+ Close Quarters Camera...
Great mini camera from the Sunba brand. Beware that this little thing is not for long distance viewing. The 4x zoom isn't much. This camera is best as an entryway camera. Perhaps, above a doorway or any up-close areas you want to keep an eye on. I own one of Sunba's biGGer models (601-d20x) and I was expecting this little guy to do the same. I mounted it in my field and was quickly disappointed. However, it does make an excellent close quarters camera. It's just not recommend for your field.
