A Musical Time Machine !
Having been in search of some Dancehall Choons for awhile, it was good to at last come across this album. The early 80’s is the era I remember most. Problem was that I would just record from the radio David Rodigan in action. After 20 odd years the names of artist and tracks fade.I bought this CD on the off chance it would have all the choons that I’d like. And may I say WHAT A BUY!. This CD is like going back in time. From the first to the last beat, I love it. Nicodemus talking about his Bone Connections is just a joy to behold. Eek-A-Mouse and his Wa-Do-Dem gives me the urge to just jump up and move.John Holt’s Sweetie Come Brush Me has just got one of the best bass-lines ever. The eyes shut and the head moves when this one starts. Yellowman in his own style kicks some serious behind and sent me back into my old pile of vinyl on a search for his albums. Although some may not find General Echo’s Bathroom Sex to their taste, I find the song kind of funny, which is, I’m sure how Mr Echo wanted it.All round it’s a fantastic album with which I am more than happy. If you remember early 80’s Dancehall, then this is a MUST !.Hopefully the record companies will realise this and bring out some more. If not, in the words of Eek-A-Mouse… Ah Wa-Do-Dem !

Biggest by far!!!
If you are interested in the roots of dancehall music then look no further than this. There have been enough compilations from the sixties and seventies, now it is the time of the eighties. This was when almost cartoon-like characters like EEk-a-mouse and yellowman ruled the land unleashing humour into themix whilst chatting about everyday topics.Tracks like Barrington Levys-shine eye gal, Michael Prophet gunman,Dennis Brown foundation,Johnny Osbourne ice cream love, which have all been used by various sounds as dub plates, are timeless... i could gone on but essentially this album is massive and is a must amongst dancehall fans!!!
