Put this 88" fan in our 16'x18' covered deck and it is excellent. Smooth quiet operation, did not need any balancing on install, and with the size even on low speeds it moves enough air to cool everything down. This is exactly what I wanted so that it's not blowing everything everywhere but cools a large area. The quality is very good, with real (balsa) wood blades instead of plastic with the metal and smooth fasteners that really add to the look. Installation was a little easier than other fans with everything fitting together easily and well organized parts and instructions. While it is a little heavy because of the size, I was able to do the installation on my own. You do need a pretty large clear floor area to put it together because the entire fan gets built before it is mounted to the ceiling. Overall very good fan and worth the extra cost over others. Nice enough that right after seeing mine the neighbor ordered the same fan.

Monte Carlo had the best reviews of the fans I looked at (that weren't made by Bigass, which costs about 4 times as much). I called the company to order the matching 6 ft downroad. Someone actually answered the phone and was helpful. The fan is a beauty. Small drawbacks: 1) It doesn't really spin very fast (not sure if that's normal for such big fans). 2) Balancing was a bit of a pickle. Had to rotate blades to restore some balance as weights didn't do anything. It now wobbles just a bit (keep in mind that's on a 6 ft downrod, which possible could be fixed with the balancing weights.

They're huge and look good, but they didn't generate enough cooling to satisfy us. We finally replaced them when we couldn't keep the wooden blades clean anymore. Our new fans have 10 blades of cooling power, and they're made from thick abs plastic.

The 88" Maverick fan is big but not overwhelming for a good sized room with a high ceiling. The new DC motor and balsawood blades make for a very light fan but one that looks substantial. The blades on my fan could have used just a bit more care in finishing but the overall effect is of quality and uniqueness. The walnut colored blades have just a little red in their color hue, otherwise the pictures are accurate. Installation difficulty is about average.

We installed this fan in our log home. We are off grid so every watt counts. We used it all winter runs 24/7 at low speed. Flawless operation. We have a 20 ft ceiling which causes the warmed air from our wood stove to stagnate in the ceiling. The fan is operated in the updraft mode and causes the heated air to smoothly flow throughout our house without drafts. This was the perfect fan for our needs.

I’m ultimately very happy with this fan. It fit the needs of what we were looking for. Was fairly unbalanced and wobbled when first installed. Made sure to bolt the blades on very symmetrically but still needed some included weights added to a blade. After 20 minutes I determined where the weights were needed and is now perfectly balanced. Truly, the only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is price related. I sincerely feel the larger the fan, the more dramatic the price is, regardless of true cost. Common sense tells me there is somewhere around $90-100 cost in this product but the price is extremely over inflated simply because it’s “bigger”. Just money though, right?!

This is the most beautiful fan I've ever seen. I cant believe it's in my house. I was skeptical about the balsa wood blades, but they were packed safely and are stronger than they appear. It is very quiet and naturally well-balanced. The remote is intuitive and cell designed. The downrod it comes with is very short. We made a custom downrod and mounting bracket adapted to our ceiling. Incredibly happy with this purchase. Absolutely worth +$700.

Montecarlo 88” fans. Bought 2 of these fans for my covered patio, installed one (I am a licensed contractor in the state of Florida) and turned it on. The fan was set and run in both directions at multiple speeds and I was disappointed noticing that there was not any wind being produced. The purpose of a fan is to cool an area and provide some kind of breeze. To paint a picture, I could have set the fans on high and lit and maintained a lit candle anywhere around or under the fan. We attempted to return the fans through amazons return policy and the seller refunded 1/2 of one fan and would not send a return label for the second fan. Several emails with the seller and Amazon has not provided a favorable result. Had this been purchased at a big box retailer, I would not be going through such a rigorous process. I would not recommend this fan unless it’s purely for aesthetic purposes nor the retailer if you're accustomed to a hassle free or risk free purchase.
