Sony UBP-X700 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player with Dolby Vision Bundle with 6 Feet High Speed HDMI Cable (2 Items)

I've been a fan of high quality Blu-ray discs for years, and 5 weeks ago upgraded to this 4K ultra player, along with a Sony XR OLED TV. The step up in video quality is awesome! Increased color depth and tracking, higher resolution, smooth motion, lots of detail, it's amazing. Subtle colors are subtle, grays finely resolved, and brilliant colors really pop! Excellent.

Most likely the best in the current market

The white HDMI cable that it comes with may not fit in the plug on your TV. It's the thin type, and my TV did not accept it. It also comes with a black cable that fits just fine, but there is no mention of it in the instructions. Anyway, when I finally realized that there are two types of cable and that the black one (a little shorter than the white one) would work, everything was OK. I still don't know the specs of the black cable however. Hoping it's also a high-speed 4K one.

This UHD player works brilliantly. Easy set-up and great picture. One thing I really enjoy is that thing boots up almost instantly. Put the disc in and it reads it right away. Only thing I dislike is that the apps are limited. You can't add anything like Apple plus tv or Disney plus. Otherwise I highly recommend this player.

I do a LOT of research on devices before I buy them, especially at this price point. So I read and watched many reviews before deciding to purchase. I had an older Sony Blu-Ray player that worked well, but it was not very good at upscaling my standard DVDs and wasn't going to give me the best result on my newer 4K TV. I surveyed all of the top reviewed players UHD/4K players and the UBP-X700 is one of the most affordable. Its features compared favorably even to more high-priced units. There are two HDMI outputs, one for video only, and the second can carry both audio and video (for older non-4K AV receivers). There is also coax audio output, but I don't find that useful. I use the HDMI video output and run optical sound signal from my TV to the soundbar. Tech reviews indicate the player produces excellent 5.1 sound, but I am using just a soundbar, so I cannot evaluate that feature. DVDs, even the oldest ones, look good, and the HD, Blu-ray, and 4K Blu-ray look crisp and vivid. There is a full array of streaming features built in, of course, but I use a Roku for that purpose. If you want to use the player as your streaming device, it does load really fast, and can play 4K YouTube videos extremely well. There is a USB port on the front for playing your own content. There is no digital display on the front, as with some more expensive players, but as the unit is sitting behind my soundbar, and the functions display on the TV screen, I don't find that a drawback anyway. The remote is a bit small, but fairly intuitive; there are many customizable settings in the settings menu. As there is very little difference between this X700 and the X800, I don't think the latter is worth an additional $50 or so. NOTE: This particular seller included two good quality high speed HDMI cables, which I appreciated.

I like the way it was easy to setup to the new tv and it works great.

From an old man of humble-means, SONY has, as expected, PROvided another...GREAT DEVICE! My viewing of DVD'S has been Enhanced 10 Fold, as has the Enjoyment! * I am blessed. ; )
