Python in 24 Hours, Sams Teach Yourself

Arm yourself beforehand
Nothing teaches Python in 24 hours, unless you already know how to program. And you really have to dedicate 24 hours in a row to benefit. With food, drink, bathroom and nap breaks. And snacks. And don't put your drink too close to your keyboard, especially if you have a laptop. And you do have to have a computer. And you have to download Idle or Pygame, which will screw up your bash profile. You will need to call tech support and talk to someone who speaks UNIX. I would not recommend this for PC tech unsupport. Get a mac.

great starter book.
This is a great starter book for python. Great for a beginner. I was over the knowledge of this book so I ended up having to skip through most of the chapters. The real reason I needed this book was for the syntax. Everything else I didn't care much for, but if I was a beginner this book really would of helped to introduce some of the planning of programs and how to write them based on a plan.

Perfect for beginners.
This is the best Python book I've found for beginners. It assumes you know nothing about programming. The lessons are concise and easy to follow. The writing is straightforward. However, the exercises provided do not contain any solutions whatsoever, not even model solutions. So if you don't have someone who already knows programming, it can be tough to figure out the right code. One star off for this. Also, this book is for Python 2.7, and some of the examples are outdated for Python 3 +. For example, all the code examples use print without a parenthesis. Run this in Python 3 and you'll get an error. For best results, use the book with an instructor who knows what they're doing.

New to Python? Get this book!
This book helped me quickly make sense of the language enough to get an A on my homework.I only wish my instructor was as clear as this book!It also fails to correct the print statements should be print(xxx) and not print xxx

This is an excellent book.
This book is very well structured. Each chapter builds on top of the prior ones. By the end, you have learned the basics of Python, as well as a few more intermediate tools that have real world application. This is an excellent book.

Buy a different book
As a person who has written in Java and C++ this book leaves a lot to be desired in the way of common syntax and formulation of commands. The examples I. The book skip the part where you are supposed to be able to save and call files and do imports and the syntax does not work in the development environment it recommends you to download.

It comes from a public library
Used, very used. It's ok for its price but it has several stamps from a public library.A stolen item? I don't know.

Easy to understand, Simple to Complex task by task approach, Good Book
Though this book is written for windows and mac (only installation of python is slightly different) , It is very easy to apply python on Linux. I use it on Linux Mint 18.1. Language of book is very simple and easily understandable. Lots of cross-referencing is provided for online resources and further readings. Presently I'm reading beginning chapters. I would definitely recommend it to people who are new to python. I find this as a good start to learn python and programming is quite easy in python. Good job by Katie Cunningham.

Super cool.
It was really good and it has renewed my own controversial theory that women are better at teaching programming than men. Go figure.
