I ordered the discs to smooth out a concrete counter and bar top. I was my first attempt and it had to be pored in place so the surface was far from perfect. The results really surprised me. I never thought it would come out so smooth. I spent about four hours with an electric buffer at about 3000 to 3800 rpms going through each grit of disc according to directions and online videos. Then I sealed the concrete with one coat of sealer. I am very pleased with the results. The product works exactly as described but it takes time and patience. I did about 25 square feet in about 4 hours taking frequent breaks and making sure to use plenty of water with the discs. The only ChangE the company could make would be to include one more 400 grit disc. As you can see in the third picture the 200 and 400 discs wore out the most. This may have been my lack of experience. But I still would have like an extra 400. Overall, I highly recommend this product. My wife is very happy with our new outdoor kitchen counter and bar top.

Worked good on mineral pool stains from pool water constantly dropping. Removed dark mineral build up on both tiles and plaster. Nice kit. Good adhesion to the backing pad. Will keep using.

WARNING! Comply with instructions that you cannot use with grinder that exceeds 5000 rpm. I did not read this and used a regular high rpm angle grinder and was injured in the side of my he head and inner thigh. A piece of a polishing pad broke off and hit the right temple of my head causing a lump and bruise. Additionally, a pad flew off at high speed at hit me in the groin area leaving a raised bump and large bruise. Lastly, the rubber pad that holds the different grit pads separated at high speed from the nut that screws onto the angle grinder at flew up into the ceiling and bounced off down into the wall both leaving black skid marks. Probably works well though with an adjustable, lower speed, angle grinder.

Perfect for my day to day projects

If you're used to tiling and find that the tile you like doesn't have the bullnose pieces to finish the baseboard in the bathroom or the edges of your shower walls, these pads along with a variable speed angle grinder will allow you to make your own pieces any size of shape you need. It works on porcelain tile as they are through body color so your edges are whatever color you tile body is. If they are used on ceramic tile, which is mostly glaze on a while body, your edges assuming you can successfully shape them, would be white. Set comes with a nice assortment of grits so you can achieve a good level of shine if you want.

I believed what was stated in the product description, "Your surface will have a shiny gloss at the end of the polishing process, giving you an incredible sense of satisfaction." As you can see from my test piece of granite it does not. The photo shows a test on a piece of black galaxy granite beginning with factory polished granite. Look outside the whiteout marked areas for what it looked like before anything was done to it. The left area is another test and unrelated to this product. The center area in the photo is what it looks like after using 400, 800 then the highest grit in this kit: 1500 . The 400 was used for about 15-20 seconds with water @ 1500 rpm increasing to 2000 for another 15-20 seconds. The 800 for about 5 MINUTES with water at 2500rpm increasing to 3000 for another 5 without noticeable difference in appearance. The 1500 pad was used at 3000, then 3500rpm for a long-long time with water and also allowing the water to evaporate for short periods before re-wetting in attempting to get anywhere close to the original appearance of the factory granite. It was unachievable after 20 minutes in just this tiny test area. The area to the right shows the result of one piece of 3000 grit silicone carbide wet and dry sandpaper with water after 3-5 minutes with water @ 3000rpm. I'm returning the kit.

Great value for polishing almost all types of stone and concrete. Easy to use, just attach backer to a drill or polisher, and start with heaviest grit, working down to finest grit for a glass like result or stop when desired sheen is achieved. For best results and prevention of overheating materials and the pads, use cool cool water. Be prepared to clean area after using unless you have a shield around the pads, they will throw out the water and dust that's part of the polishing process, with that in mind, you can polish out scratches in stone counter tops, polish concrete sections, or for what ever your stone and concrete polishing needs are.

The set is well conceived at a very fair price. Supply of pads is ample. An extra backing pad is included.
