This book is amazing. Linda is such an inspiration for aspirational home cooks and this book is completely worth the splurge. The photographs are beatiful in here too!

I follow Linda on Instagram and found this book when looking for recipes on her website. I've made three of the cakes...I would consider myself an intermediate-level baker, and the recipes were clear and foolproof. The accompanying pictures are beautifully styled. I also appreciate the explanation of techniques and of the importance of different tools/quality ingredients in the beginning.

I had never heard of this author before and bought this book on a whim as Amazon suggested it to me. I'm an avid baker that hasn't baked in a few years so when my sister asked me to bake her a cake for her 21st I feared I had lost my touch. I bought this purely because the cake on the front looked pretty, yes I judge books by their covers! Anyway although I haven't actually baked anything from this book yet I literally plan to make all of them in 2015 bar a couple due to the fact I don't like certain fruits like blueberries (weird I know). The layout of the book is clear and consistent. The recipes are written in American style cups and ounces but cup measures can be bought from literally everywhere in the UK. I haven't found any funny sounding or confusing ingredients which can be a worry when you buy a recipe book from a non Brotish author as we seem to have nothing available in the UK. The cakes themselves look absolutely eqsiuite and are so beautiful. The author breaks down how to assemble the cakes which would be extremely useful to anyone used to baking.

Partiamo dal fatto che ho acquistato prima "my sweet kitchen" (ultimo libro dell'autrice) e poi questo. Ho riscontrato ricette e immagini molto simili, spiegazioni quasi identiche a differenza che in questo spiega anche le tecniche per la pasta di zucchero mentre nell'ultimo suo libro no. Qui si parla esclusivamente di torte a strati, belle le spiegazioni e le tecniche, abbastanza facile l'esecuzione di queste. Quindi nel complesso sono soddisfatta, lo consiglio. Se invece volete ricette molto più varie, consiglio "my sweet kitchen" che tratta anche biscotti, cupcakes è molto altro ancora.. entrambi comunque libri bellissimi! Adoro questa autrice che seguo ormai da tempo! Foto meravigliose e idee alternative in ogni suo libro. Prezzo concorrenziale. Spedizione in due giorni e imballo ottimo!
