WiFi Module for Pro Series Float Controller

This unit works great! Plug the USB data cable into the data port of the WiFi module and then simply plug the other end into the USB port on the back of your controller. Plug in the power cord and your ready to set it up. WiFi setup instructions are easy to follow. Although there is only boxes to type in email addresses, if you want a text message sent to your phone, most celular companies have a way to do this using your cellphone number. For example, if you want a text message sent to your phone and your cell phone number is (555)123-4567 and you have service from AT&T, then during setup, in the email box, you would enter [email protected]. Verizon would be [email protected]. You can enter a regular email address as well if you prefer. There are 2 boxes for email addresses. You can add more once you register your unit and create a free account. This works very well.

There are known connectivity issues with the following brands of routers: Netgear Nighthawk, Arris, Sagemcom and Eero. If you use any if these, you will need to invest in a Wi-Fi extender or get another router from another brand to act as an access point.I had to navigate through these hurdles with Glentronics technical support and am now connecting through my Netgear extender EX-6200 and have had no problems since.I am giving this 4 stars for two reasons: I don't like the connection to backup control unit being on the face of the unit. The other reason is the app itself. It does not give a more comprehensive status of the battery backup system--such as the back up battery status. This app is due for an upgrade but was delayed because of COVID-19.Update 6/14/2021. Even when using an access point that is line of sight with the unit, I cannot keep an active connection for more than 8 hours. Lowering my rating to 1 star until Glentronics updates its poor app.Update 26 Jun 2021. I purchased a wireless access point that is within the line of sight of the module. In the last two days since the module has been connected to the access point, I have had no disconnects. This module has a very weak wi fi receiver.

Easy to install if you follow the instructions. They even have videos on YouTube. Its very basic and simple but worth the cost for peace of mind. Make sure you have good wifi signal.**Update 2021**So it has been a year and I wanted to amend this review. For 1 year, I had zero issues. Then all of a sudden, I had daily wifi disconnects. It was a pain to try to fix this. Another reviewer nailed it perfectly. If your Wifi (I use EERO) ever updates or changes, you may have serious problems. So whatever Wifi system your currently using, it may or may not make this module useless. My EERO wifi had 0 issues for a year until all of a sudden, it had. After several attempts to reconnect/disconnect, I did what the other reviewer did. I used my old Wifi Signal repeater and used it as an Access Point (Plugged it in directly and only setup a 2.4 GHZ repeat signal). After this, zero disconnects.

had issues getting it set up.. would not work via iPhone had to use my iPad, works well once set up .Wish it had more features - like tracking every time sump ran etc not just power.

So far I love this. It turns my backup sump pump system into an internet-connected device which allows me to monitor it from anywhere. It gives me great peace of mind. I like that it has multiple power sources so no matter what it will function. Easy to install and configure. Now hopefully I will never hear from these devices but if something does happen at least I will be aware.

This device can not keep a wifi connection no matter what I tried. It stays connected for a bit and then it drops and needs to be reset to connect again. Even when it is connected it is totally useless as it just tells you that the various components are online. I was expecting that it would tell me when the sump pump runs and keeps a record of how often and other useful data. None of that is the case. Useless.

Has done well so far post installation now 60 days. Did drop WiFi once with no reason. Unplugged power and restarted the system and got WiFi back. No power issues caused the loss of WiFi and range extender holds all WiFi devices in home and that area fine. This was the reason no five star rating. Notifications come through well just not instantly so a few minutes enough time to address issues if needed.

Product is not ready for prime time. Wi-Fi loses connection every night and requires a full setup to restore operation. Only sends emails rather than texts. I plan to pursue getting a refund.
