A must have for post hysterectomy recoveryโผ๏ธ
I bought this MOYOAMA pillow in grey just before my robotic surgery yesterday, and I honestly don't know how I would be managing these first 48 hours without it. It has been such a tremendous comfort during my recovery, and I really wanted to share my experience with other women who might be feeling as nervous as I was. If you are facing a hysterectomy or any abdominal surgery, you know that "vulnerable" feeling you get afterward. This pillow has become my ultimate shield. It is the perfect barrier between my incisions and the rest of the worldโwhether it was protecting me from the seatbelt on the drive home from the hospital, or just keeping the weight of my blankets from pressing down on my stomach while I rest in bed. It gives me a sense of security that actually allows me to relax and breathe easier The gel pack that comes with it is a total game-changer. I haven't used it for heat at all, but I have used it strictly for ice, and the cooling relief is incredible. After a robotic procedure, those small port sites can feel really sharp and inflamed. The pillow has a built-in pocket that holds the ice pack exactly where it needs to be. The fabric is so soft that it protects your skin from being too cold while still letting that deep, soothing chill get to the internal swelling. It has made a huge difference in my pain levels today. I also found it essential for what they call "splinting." Every time I need to shift my weight, cough, or even laugh, I hug this pillow tight against my belly. It provides the firm support my core muscles just don't have right now and stops that scary "pulling" sensation at the incision sites. The grey fabric is lovely and soft against the skin, which is so important when you're already feeling sensitive. If you are looking for a gift for yourself or a loved one going through this, please get this. Itโs the one thing in my recovery kit that I truly couldn't do without. It has made my days home recovering so much more manageable.

You need this!
This pillow was a lifesaver after my laparoscopy surgery to remove a 14 cm ovarian cyst. It made a huge difference with seatbelts and protecting my stomach from my cats while I slept. I felt sore and a bit deflated after surgery, so I kept it on me basically 24/7. It really helped when walking, sleeping, coughing, laughing, or sneezing. The pockets are incredibly useful. I ended up carrying everything in them when moving between the bed and couch. Itโs soft but still supportive, easy to adjust, and the shape makes it comfortable to hold. The included ice pack is a great bonus too, it sits perfectly on the belly and helps with swelling without being too intense. Two weeks post op and I'm still sleeping with it to feel less pulling when I'm on my side, and to protect me from my cats that like to crawl on me when I'm asleep. I completely recommend this for anyone going through abdominal surgery!

More helpful than I realized it would be
This was an absolute lifesaver! I used it on the ride home from surgery and follow up doctor appointments to protect me from the seatbelt. I also used it when sitting in the sofa or recliner to protect me from an overly enthusiastic and entirely ungraceful cat. It helped with pain to have something to hug to my abdominals when I coughed or sneezed, or got up and down from the bed/being seated. The straps are comfortable and adjustable, also amply sized for those of us gals on the extra curvy side. The small pocket proved handy for keeping the tv remote and phone with me when it was not holding the included ice pack (which also came in clutch). The large pocket worked great to hold a small heating pad or one of those larger soft ice packs. The fabric itself is lightly fuzzy, soft and snuggly. I have only spot cleaned it, but it looks like it would hold up well should I need put it in the washer. Though I would probably put it down in a mesh bag and use a cool gentle cycle (hang dry!) to protect the elastic straps. There is a zipper to remove or add stuffing as needed. Of all the things I purchased to make my life easier while healing, this pillow and one of those grabber reach extender things were the most helpful. I probably could have done without everything else, to tell the truth. So hereโs where my story differs from most: Itโs a year later and I am fully healed from my surgery. The pillow looks no worse for wear and I have definitely gotten my moneyโs worth out of it. Most shockingly, I actually still use this pillow on a frequent basis. I certainly did not see that one coming! I like gaming on a Steam Deck. If youโve ever played one, you know theyโre heavier than many handhelds and pretty brutal on your wrists and arms for lengthy gaming sessions. This pillow is a perfect rest for that console on my lap and makes gaming for hours quite comfortable. No more wrist pain. :) I even find myself grabbing it when using lighter controllers, or reading a book. Itโs just that comfy. So yeah, perhaps we have a new marketing niche for this pillow? haha.

Must have! The best post surgery purchase!!
Hands down, this was THE best item I bought for my post hysterectomy recovery!! It gives me security when I walk around the house so I donโt bump into anything directly to my abdomen. Even a countertop right now is scary to lean without this pillow as I recover. And I would not get any sleep without it. Itโs so soft and comforting. Softer than the softest teddy bear. The shape makes sense and pockets are nice too. I literally use it all day. It has aided in my recovery 100%!

The pillow is nice but I really loved the icepack!
I really liked this pillow and icepack set. I like to be able to wash things so I placed all of the loose stuffing it is filled with in a plastic bag to insert and remove easily. I also made it a bit firmer with a foam pad. It was great when I was in the car and sitting or laying down, I could use it behind my back or head. As I moved around more, I liked the front and back pockets & after awhile used this more as a purse to transport my stuff as I went from rm to room. It was kinda hard to see past it when walking at times (especially stairs,) so I recommend using it like a backpack or sling it over the shoulder then. I think at times wearing it in the front, it helped my posture a bit though. Definitely keeping me from bending forward. I think people stayed back a bit more, like when I went in for my f/u ๐คฃ. I used the icepack the most after awhile since it was so nice and big. It froze quickly and lasted a really long time. After awhile though, I found it easier and more efficient to wrap the icepack in a longer shirt then tuck that into my waist band instead of keeping it in the pillow. The pillow is nice and fluffy, could be compressed fairly small. Especially at the beginning, when you have the coughing fits while recovering from the breathing tube or have to sneeze, it was nice to have the pack in vs out and I used both hands to push it towards my abdomen firmly IYKYK.

Unnecessary, but still a good purchase
I have to say, this pillow was actually an unnecessary purchase for my c section recovery. The only use I got out of it was the car ride home from the hospital. It worked great to make the seat belt tolerable. But my toddler has now taken ownership of it and sleeps with it every night. And the buckles? No problem. She thinks itโs soft and fluffy. The ice pack inside is great alone tbh

Comfortable
This pillow is very nice, itโs not too heavy and is soft. I truly helped me the first week after my hysterectomy and I still use it two weeks after but for an actual head pillow to take naps on the couch. It has the perfect amount of cushion so when my dog would lay on me it would keep him only on my lap and off my stomach. Every once in a while Iโll catch him also using the pillow for his naps on the couch. I personally donโt use the straps it came with because I donโt really walk around with it and if I do I just put my hands through the pockets, however the two times I did us the straps they were good, not scratchy or hard to adjust.

Must have for hysterectomy
I never really leave Amazon reviews but this pillow has been a lifesaver after my total hysterectomy this week. It helps so much with splinting while getting up and down. The ice pack pocket has been in constant use. The front pockets to hold my phone are an added bonus. And the straps to keep it all on are great. The doctors and nurses at my hospital had never seen one before and were all very impressed as well. Worth every penny!

Worth. Every. Penny.
This pillow was expensive ($73). Honestly, worth it! I had a total abdominal hysterectomy (TAHBSO), this pillow has been everything. It works as a coughing/sneezing pillow (yes, you need one), I use it as a seatbelt cushion, and I also use it in bed to prop under me. to sorta sleep on my side. The design is brilliant. The straps are so handy, and the pouches hold just about everything. One holds a hot /cold pack, the other holds the remotes, my phone, some gum, it even fits the vacuum thingy I was sent home with, to prevent infection (itโs attached to me and has to go everywhere with me for the first 12 days). Itโs also soft and cuddly. I researched a lot going into this surgery. I bought a lot, which ultimately got returned. This pillow and my soft heating pad is all I really need.

Very helpful for large incision
Really helpful for car rides, sleeping, and protecting my vertical abdominal incision. I was a little slow healing so I used this for more than 6 weeks, life saver on car rides in particular. Highly recommend.

Tummy tuck essential
I got this for when I had my tummy tuck and it was wonderful. Great for in the car to protect your stomach, holds ice packs against belly easily, and perfect for propping behind hips when sleeping. Plus it holds all your stuff in the pockets!

So incredibly worth it, made the world of difference
I got this pillow a couple days after a hysterectomy and oh my goodness did it make a difference, the fabric is so soft! Reminds me of a minky blanket, it had just the right amount of padding for me. Anytime I'd cough, sneeze, or laugh I have to brace myself. This pillow worked perfectly for it, super squishy too. The heat pad pocket keep the hot/cold pack in the perfect spot for where my sutures are, the straps helped for when i was walking to keep it in place too, and the pocket infront was awesome for keeping lipsol and snacks in. After having it, I'd make sure if anyone i know is having a hysterectomy or a section I'm getting them the pillow! For me that's saying alot cause I've never been one to in a sense snuggle a pillow on the couch, but now I can't help but snuggle it and I don't think I'll ever be without it!
