Awesome
Awesome bit of kit that works brilliantly with Studio One. It has replaced the transport controls on my KK S49 and it has some really good integrated features. It takes a while to “unlearn” using a mouse for everything but it does speed up my general interaction with Studio One (ver 6). Using real sliders is a revelation and the channel displays are nice and bright - It’s also built like a tank!! I don’t have anything negative to say about it, I used a Novation launch control mk2 for a few days previously and sent it back due to its poor integration with Studio One

Excellent but of kit.
Brilliant bit of kit. It's that difficult balance between what you want and can afford. I would have loved a multichannel surface, but they are so expensive. Went for this as an affordable. The offer at the time included a full version of the new Fender Studio Pro 8 DAW. It was worth buying the controller just for the software. The controller itself is well-made, and can be used with most DAWs easily. It really shines with its own software and both the controller and software (if your lucky enough to find the same deal) are well worth it if that's what you need for your studio set up.

Great desk for the money
This really is give value for money, it’s very easy to install (just download the PreSonus App, run it flash the firmware and boom it’s ready) and it works with most DAWs it does come with a cut down PreSunus Studio One. I just followed the basic instructions and it was set for Pro Tools, it took minutes from start to finish. If like me & plenty of others after hours of online research looking for help, & you use a Mac do not install the “Free Plugin Alliance” plugins because it’s almost impossible to get rid of them & at the start up of the DAW software (I use Pro Tools) it wants you to either buy other plugins (about 120) or active them! It does it every time! The Lexicon reverb is great, so that’s a nice add on & works a treat. If you are after a very good 16 track mixer, Go for it!

A dream in Studio One, limited in Logic Pro X (Plus billing mess)
The Product & Native Performance: Physically, this hardware is phenomenal and the build quality is solid. If you are using PreSonus Studio One, the FaderPort is an absolute dream machine. It integrates flawlessly, the motorised fader is incredibly responsive, and it effortlessly controls all your plugins right out of the box. The Utility in Logic Pro X: However, if your primary DAW is Logic Pro X, the functionality drops off a cliff. It only allows you to control volume and panning natively. While there is a workaround to control plugins via the automation route, it is tedious, clunky, and requires way too many steps to be practical during a live session. It simply isn't for me. The Buying Experience: Using Amazon's monthly installment plans turned into a massive headache. Even though they received my return, the automated billing stayed completely active. It was a total mess dealing with the customer service agents—I was passed around to nine different people who gave conflicting information and false promises. Thankfully, I eventually got my money back and the plan cancelled, but the support experience was exhausting. Final Verdict: Great hardware for Studio One users, but highly limited for Logic Pro X. Just be careful with the installment billing if you think you might need to return it.

Look no further
After trying several different DAW and MIDI controllers, I decided to go for the Faderport 8 as an upgrade. The device works like charm on any DAW's I've tried, including Logic Pro X and Ableton Live, but it works best with Studio One (no surprise there being a PreSonus device). I was especially impressed with the "MIDI Mode", which allows you to alternate between DAW Controller to MIDI Controller by pressing a couple buttons. On MIDI mode, all buttons work as MIDI CCs as well as the faders, which are mapped to some of the most used CC messages (CC1, CC11, CC7...). Having proper 100mm faders allow for great precision when adding expression to virtual instruments. Mind you, the faders are not motorised on this mode, but that is the case with most (if not all) MIDI faders on the market. Pros: - Great Functionality - Works with most DAWs - MIDI Controller mode - Responsive motorised 100mm faders - Works like a dream in Studio One - Nice look and feel Cons: - Can take up some space - Fairly expensive - Display is not great (too bright, even at the dimmest setting) - Non customisable CCs on MIDI mode (can't be mapped to CC messages for your need) - Jog wheel does not double as scrub wheel

Excellent Piece of Kit
Excellent piece of kit. Gives an excellent control surface for use with most DAWS - I chose it because I use Presonus Studio One and it is literally plug and play with this, as it is intended to be. Provides multiple functions on the desk as well as many programmable features. Still exploring beyond the basics with it and looking forward to using it more and more - escape from the keyboard and mouse. Very nice and very useful piece of equipment.

Workflow, workflow, workflow!!!
Not one to write reviews, but this product is a game changer for me. The improved workflow is immense. I used to know my key commands inside out but with updates they switch keys around and it threw me off. Now, I hardly touch mouse + keys. Which brings me back to the days of using a desk and tape. I'm back in control of the song . Well spaced out transport section makes it easy to navigate song and tracks within it, a plethora of my commonly used key commands in logic and other daws. The fader is nice when tracking and setting quick levels after takes , for automation, and I guess for mixing. Overall I'd recommend it, build is good, looks and feels like quality and improves workflow!

If you use Studio One, it’s brilliant to use.
Very simple to operate and it’s integrated use with Studio One make it very convenient to use. The controls are laid out to be easy to make quick track changes and the fader movement is really clever! Well worth the money. For those that want an even simpler setup, Presonus also have faderport with an audio interface. The only downside is that you have to plug it in, as it doesn’t run just on usb power. If it did,it would be the ultimate portable studio option.

Presonus Faderport 16
