Will this ruin your molding over time? We live in a newly built condo and the moldings are not like traditional classic moldings.

Our molding held up without any problems. You cannot tell it was there. It's also very easy to move. You can rotate locations easily to avoid over using one spot.

why is this jumper SO expensive compared with other jumpers in the $20-$40 range? does it have some kind of super special features??

I was wondering that too but the $20 ones don't have a spring at all just a strap to hang on... The $40 ones have a weak spring. This one has a legitimate all metal strong spring

Will this fit in an 8" doorway?

8 inch is not possible...if it is 8foot, then yes. You need to have door frame to hang it as in the picture

I have tall moldings, what is the maximum height molding the clamp can fit over?

You can look at the specs but my molding is large and it fits it. It is a great jumper - secure, sturdy and my grandson loves it!!
