They explain proper prep before applying on concrete. I purchased a sprayer which worked very well for application. Coverage was better than I anticipated from other reviews. I have a rather long driveway that tapers from 3 garage doors to standard width at the road. 5 gallons handled my entire driveway, larger porch and one of my concrete pads behind the house. The water is beading nicely as expected and I hope that I don't need to reapply until a few years from now as compared to some less expensive brands that require annual application.
