What material of these disposable placemats?

It is safe for kids. The placemats are made from food-grade plastic.

Does the alphabet mat really have "lizard" for the letter "i"?

Yes it does say lizard on mine.. Probably meant to be iguana. The mats are good. Not using with child that can read. Yes ,it should have been corrected but the mats still work. But if that is a deal breaker choose another option.

Will these stick to tablecloths and then peel off when finished?

Our disposable placemats are 5-sided extra adhesive with enhanced glue, ensuring placemats stay in place on any smooth surface and easily peel off.

Come with 40 packs in a bag or in individual package ?

It is packed in a bag, not individual, but it is a resealable pouch.
