Dangerous Hot Spots That Burn My Samples and Melt the Surface
This 1200W hot plate is so unevenly heated that it ruined three of my experimental slides in one hour. The center of the plate gets way too hot, turning my agar samples brown and burnt, while the edges stay almost cold. I noticed the plastic around the control knob started melting after 20 minutes of use, and there’s a weird burning smell coming from the unit that makes me worried it’ll catch fire.

Pretty good, IMO one of the best options right now.
I've tried a lot. Like A LOT of hot plates. As someone living without a kitchen and loves to cook, it has been a STRUGGLE. Now originally, I took everyone's advice online. "You should use an induction cooktop!" but no. Absolutely not. I've tried two different models of induction, and all of them suck. They're loud, small coil diameter, and don't heat up your pan evenly. Plus, you can't really toss foods in the pan since they auto turn off. Induction rant aside, this is pretty much one of the best options that you have for a single burner IMO. It has enough power to be able to boil water/pasta in an acceptable amount of time (with the lid on it was like 5 minutes for me). It's also pretty easy to clean, and the base of the hotplate stays cool while in use (I do recommend using a cutting board/mat underneath it though). Truthfully, I'm not too big of a fan of the super sleek full glass design. It looks nice, yes, but your pan absolutely slips and slides, so I'd use handled pots whenever using this cooktop. The very top layer of glass has also started to chip I think? Not really chip, but rub away. It's either that, or burn scars like any infrared cooktop. Regardless. Price-to-effectiveness ratio, this is literally one of the best options on the market. I haven't tried the double burner option, only the 1200W, but I think it's worth it. Ngl, temperature control is a bit iffy though. Not exactly fine tuned.

Avoid these burners
Honestly... just straight up terrible. I hate that I spent hours reading reviews looking for different hot plates, and finally deciding on one, and this being the one I chose. All these cheap ceramic burners will shatter, this one shattered after a month. Then I returned it, and the replacement just shattered again after only a month. The heat level is fine, it works great otherwise, it just shatters over and over. I owned a single burner coil from OVENTE as well and the coils died in 2 months. The brand is pretty awful. The reality is, if you need something reliable, go induction if you can. Pick up some induction ready pots and pans second hand and it'll be an infinitely better experience than buying these over and over. Waste of money.

Compact, Sleek and Easy to Clean
When my cooktop conked out I decided that I didn't need to replace it and bought a 2 burner cooktop, set a large wooden tray on the disabled stovetop....and then discovered that I really only used one of the burners. So I bought an Ovente Ceramic Single burner Hot Plate; it's nicer looking and easier to clean...a quick wipe does it! My Ovente Kettle sits right next to it and I have plenty of surface to work on.

Do not waster your Money on this!
Purchased April 28, started using it here and there and it’s June 2nd and not working. I didn’t purchase something to not work. Not worth wasting your money, isn’t durable, temp control stinks and the only good thing was appearance but now it appears to be garbage.

Can’t boil noodles
This is a small burner it worked well to heat up food. Trying to boil water for noodles and cook them was painfully slow. Work better than nothing but I would pay more for a better quality one.
