Skeptical at first, but definitely works.
I first ordered these and they didn't seem to work (or I was just never in ketosis whilr on carnivore). Now that I've been in ketosis for a week or so, they definitely work. I opened the package about 3+ months ago thinking it would go bad by the time I was actually in ketosis but clearly they don't go bad like the description implies.

Better than I originally thought
updated - 8/14/2023 So I have continued to use these and I have had 0 additional strips that failed to register a reading. I said that I would continue to use these and then revisit the review if things changed. So several things, 1. the seller contacted me without being asked. The fact that they would reach out asking if they can help without me contacting them, that is good for them. 2. I haven't had any more fail to register strips so I will chalk the first few strips to a fluke. In light of these 2 things I updated this review to 5 stars. 150 strips for $10? I mean... that's cheap, these strips seem to do a perfectly fine job if I ignore the first few strips I used. The fact that the vendor was proactive about making sure I was happy. Yeah, 5 stars. I used to use ketone strips. 2 decades ago I lost a ton of weight doing essentially Keto (Atkins). I used ketone strips all the time to track progress. Fast forward to now and trying to lose some extra weight, I'm using a mix of intermittent, and extended fasting and Keto and wanted to track my progress. I ordered these strips thinking ketone strips are all the same. Well in this age where it seems Keto is the current darling diet, everybody is selling them and at least these ones don't seem to be as good as the ones I purchased back in the day. I just finished a 4 day fast. I tested these strips multiple times over the course of this most recent fast and the first half dozen sticks failed to even register. People who do keto or have done it for any length of time know the taste and the smell when you are in ketosis. I know how my mouth tastes and what it smells like when I use the bathroom. Maybe I just got a few bad strips? The last couple tests they worked well, I was able to see that I was indeed in ketosis. I experienced a lot of no-readings or false negatives with these. I was going to return them but decided to just see how it goes over the next month. I will update this in a few weeks if the first failures were a fluke.

Reliable Ketone Testing Made Easy: Keto Mojo Ketone Strips Review
Ketosis is a critical aspect of the ketogenic diet, and accurately measuring ketone levels is essential for tracking progress. The Keto Mojo Ketone Strips have become an integral part of my keto journey, allowing me to monitor my ketone levels with convenience and precision. Before delving into the specifics, let’s briefly explain what ketone strips are and what they do. Ketone strips are small paper-like strips that detect the presence and concentration of ketones in the body, specifically beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB). By providing a color-coded scale, these strips enable users to gauge their level of ketosis quickly. One observation I’ve made while using the Keto Mojo Ketone Strips is that sometimes, even when in a state of strong ketosis, the strips may not register as intensely on the color scale. This occurrence can be attributed to the fact that the body is efficiently utilizing the ketones, resulting in lower levels being excreted and detected by the strips. While this can initially be perplexing, it’s important to understand the underlying physiological processes at work. What sets the Keto Mojo Ketone Strips apart is their reliability and ease of use. I appreciate the consistency and accuracy they offer, providing me with peace of mind when monitoring my ketone levels. The strips deliver clear and discernible results, empowering me to make informed adjustments to my diet and lifestyle. In terms of convenience, the Keto Mojo Ketone Strips are straightforward to use. Simply obtain a small urine sample, dip the strip into the liquid, and wait for the allotted time. The color change on the strip corresponds to the level of ketosis, allowing you to track your progress and ensure you’re staying within your desired range. Although the Keto Mojo Ketone Strips have proven to be reliable in my experience, it’s worth noting that individual variations may exist due to factors like hydration levels and metabolism. It’s always wise to interpret the results in conjunction with other indicators of ketosis, such as energy levels, appetite suppression, and overall well-being. In summary, the Keto Mojo Ketone Strips have become a valuable tool in my ketogenic journey, providing reliable and convenient ketone testing. While the color scale occasionally may not reflect the full extent of ketosis, it’s important to recognize the body’s efficient utilization of ketones. These strips offer consistent results, enabling users to make informed decisions and adjustments along their keto path. If you’re committed to tracking your ketone levels accurately, the Keto Mojo Ketone Strips are a worthwhile investment.

I love these Ketone urine strips!
I really like the strips as they respond quickly with good color and they are longer than other brands making them easier to use. But, the color key on the bottle is not very good for assesing your results, the colors are off. I used to use Relion brand strips I got from Walmart but the the per strip cost was higher and the color response didn't work as well as these do. However, the color scale on the Relion Strips bottle were right on so I use the scale on the Relion bottle to determine the results. So I can only give it four stars because the color key scale is poor.

Pretty accurate when following instructions
So, this is my second order of these keto strips. I’ve found these to be pretty accurate so long as you follow the instructions. The strip continues to darken as time passes, so you need to compare to the chart at 40 seconds for the highest accuracy according to the instructions. I also have a ketone meter based on bloodstream to compare to. Also, I noticed that the colors aren’t an exact match, so here is my modified method to get a very accurate assessment: 1. Compare the sample with the chart at 40 seconds after taking the sample, and not before or after that time. 2. If the sample resembles peach rather than pink, then you have 0 ketones. 3. If the sample resembles pink rather than purple, you’re somewhere between 0.5 and 1.5. Compare the overall lightness/darkness of the color to determine where on the scale you fall. 4. If the sample resembles purple rather than pink, all you want to do is compare how dark the color is rather than the actual color. The darker the measurement (as in luminance), the higher the ketone concentration. You can have a ketone <4.0 even when a shade of purple if the purple color is light enough. 5. Finally, know that if you are dehydrated, the concentration of ketones will be overstated compared to the amount of ketones in your blood. So, the color chart isn’t ultra precise, but as long as you interpret your sample as noted above, you can have a very good outcome with this product. I do recommend this product as it is more cost effective than sticking your finger. Each one of these urine-based tests costs less than 8 cents but a blood-based ketone measurement using an electronic meter costs about $1 per measurement.

Okay…
These worked great for about the first week but now they are non-reactive; they stay the same color no matter when I test. I’m not sure if it’s my body adjusting or if it’s something wrong with the strips. I didn’t expose them to any moisture or anything like that, so I’m just disappointed. There are 150 strips but they are only good for 90 days after opening (written on the bottle) so I’m wondering if they last anywhere near that long. UPDATED: these did work for me again. I think it’s my body adjusting to the keto diet. If I break it with a dinner with friends or family and then restart it these will work in tracking my body getting back into ketosis. I wanted to make that clear and to be fair to the product. It is a good tool to measure beginning or restarting a keto or similar diet. Long story short, I’d (still probably) recommend spending the money on a quality blood monitor. But if you just want to watch your ketones for a week or two these were awesome for that but you won’t need 150!

Easy use but need to use them within 30 days ish
Easy to use and convenient. The result is easy to read. But its accuracy will decrease after 30 days since you open the lid.

Erroneous reading
Compared the strip results to a blood ketone level. Blood test indicated 4.5. Test strips indicated greater than 8. Update from correspondence with the vendor pasted verbatim below. I would still avoid this product. Hi Michael: Seller keto-mojo has a message for you. --- Message from seller keto-mojo: Thank you for purchasing from our brand, Keto-Mojo, on Amazon. The first is a FORA 6 and the other is a Medilax. Both meter agree with each other. Your strips are actually worse than I reported, they generally show my keytone levels to be at or above 16 mmol/L when my blood meter/s shows my keytone levels to be at 2.4. Not quite sure how you resolve that. It is not about the money it is about the product accuracy. Your strips essentially tell me I am at risk of ketoacidosis. If you truly want to resolve the issue order several of your strips from Amazon and test their accuracy. If they are bad then do a voluntary recall. Jan 18, 2024 2:22 PM Hello Michael, We're so sorry you are concerned about your meter readings. If you feel the meter is giving you inaccurate readings, our first suggestion is to try the control solutions. Control solutions are a way to test your meter so you know that it is giving you accurate results; however, it is very rare to need a control solution for a Keto-Mojo meter, as our meters seldom fall out of calibration. That said, we include information about control solutions in our manual so you will know you have a way to benchmark if you feel your meter is not working properly. Our control solutions contain a known amount of β-Ketone or Glucose that can react with Keto-Mojo test strips. You can purchase control solutions on our website. Reasons that Merit a Control-Solution Test for Your Keto-Mojo Meter: You suspect the meter or test strips are not working properly. You have dropped or think you may have damaged the meter.Your blood ketone or glucose test results are not consistent with how you feel. You think the results are inaccurate. You're a control freak and just wanna know :)You're practicing the testing process. You can check the performance of the meter, test strip, and your technique by comparing the control solution results with the range printed on the label of test strip vial. Checking regularly ensures your test results are accurate. If your control-solutions quality control check fails, conduct another quality control check and then contact Customer Service. Lauren Keto-Mojo... Jan 18, 2024 3:00 PM It is not either of my meters it is your strips. I will update my review with more accurate data that shows your strips are dangerous. Jan 18, 2024 3:12 PM Hello Michael, Please disregard the last message it was sent by mistake. We are very sorry you are having an issue with the Urine strips. We stand by our product and are happy to give you a refund for the product. I would like to address the issues you are having. It is very hard to compare urine strips to blood tests. They test two different types of Ketones. There are many reasons why urine strips would give false readings. We see this more often when someone is seeing ketones in their blood test. Often once our body is using Ketones for fuel you will not receive correct results with the Urine strips. Here are a number of things that can cause urine strips to give false results as listed below: 1) Certain medications can give false readings when testing with urine. for example, Levodopa taken for Parkinson’s or Restless Leg Syndrome can cause a false-negative result. Ace Inhibitors such as Lisinopril can cause false-positives when using urine tests containing nitroprussides. Highly colored urine as when taking Pyridium (for painful urinary tract infections – turns urine purple) can cause a false reading as well as using a medication called Depakote. 2) Urine can be inaccurate due to sitting in the bladder for an extended period or remaining in the ambient air for a long time. Urine concentration can cause inaccurate results. 3) Excess ascorbic acid or Vitamin C can cause a false-positive result. Urine strips test for Acetoacetate (AcAc): Acetoacetate is the first ketone body that is produced and is spilled into your urine, especially in the early stages of ketosis, but rarely in later stages will results be correct. Blood Strips test for Beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB): BHB is the most prevalent and stable ketone body in the blood and is readily transported to cells to use as fuel. It can fuel most of the brain’s energy needs along with organs and muscles and represents approximately 70% of the available ketone energy. Once your body is using ketones for fuel the ketones will show in your blood. At this point Urine strips may not show the correct readings. We are not seeing this issue with others. It is important to us that we only sell product we know works correctly. We have a team of quality control that test regularly You will see a refund on your account within 1-2 business days.
