NICOR Lighting NUC-4-21-DM-W-WH Fixture, 30 inch, White

I purchased 4 of the 21" variety to replace some old fluorescent fixtures of the same size, which are all hard-wired in series to a wall switch.Pros:- Nice and warm light color. Really makes the kitchen look "richer", especially compared with the cold, stark light the fluorescent lights gave.- Quite bright and instantly on, much brighter than the fluorescent fixtures they replaced and no more "flicker-flicker" when turning them on.- The captive screws they mention make the installation pretty easy. They hold well to the melamine board on the bottom of our cabinets, no pilot hole needed.Cons (minor):- The cavity for the wires is just a touch small, especially when working with solid wire from the wall -and- having to deal with 2 black/2 white/2 ground (ours are in series, so one set from power and the other set to the next fixture). I was able to get the flip-down door closed, but after some careful wire management. On the last fixture, where there was only 1 wire set (black/white/green), it was no issue at all.- It would be nice to have a punchout in the center rear, where the hinge is. All our fixtures were pre-wired with the wires coming into the center of the fixture, from a hole in the drywall. I ended up having to drill a hole right below the hinge, as the other punchouts on each side wouldn't have been easy to make work without drywall work.Overall, a great product. We love the light color and the additional brightness, and finally being rid of those fluorescent lights!

Easy to install and gives beautiful light. Wish they could make one with a down facing outlet on the metal part.
