It works, once you get the hose on.
This can repair the damaged fittings on a coil hose brand hose. But, it’s definitely hard to push on the hose. I found a little note on the coil hose website “use a little oil and push hose onto fitting” Maybe not an exact quote, but you get the idea. But what kind of oil? Don’t know. I used pneumatic tool oil, I figured I use the hose for nail guns, so what could possibly go wrong.A couple of things that helped me.Thread the fitting, hand tight, into some that you can clamp down, I used an air manifold,,but you use anything that won’t move. I added a bit of oil to the barbed end of the fitting and while wearing rubber dipped gloves, push the end of the hose onto the barbed fitting as hard as you can. After a few attempts and some language that would make a sailor blush, the hose finally, and slowly, went on. Did you put the collar on the hose first? If not you’re going to have to cut the hose I carefully trim off the hose from the fitting. Not that that happened to me, but hypothetically that could happen. Now unthread the fitting from whatever you had it in. Slide the sleeve down over the fitting and using two wrenches and tighten. I couldn’t tell if the fitting was spinning in the hose, or the sleeve was spinning the hose, but about every other revolution of the sleeve one the mostly stationary fitting, I had to remove the wrenches so the hose would unwind.Have fun.

Good product
I had an air hose that got ran over... no it wasn't me... Anywhoooo, the gravel weakened the hose and as soon as I put pressure to the hose again, it had a pretty bad leak. I had one a couple of these laying around, so I just made two hoses out of the one 100 foot hose. They are nearly dummy proof, they seal tightly with the use of only a couple of wrenches. In my experience they will last the rest of the life of these hoses, and then I'll remove them and keep them for future use. There's nothing on them to wear out.

Reuseable
I expect that it will work for the intended job it was made for. I ordered this to repair an air hose but as it turned out I ordered the wrong size. Needed a 3/8” got a 1/4”, I guess I’ll keep it around JIC I need for a smaller hose.

It works, but very tight.
(See my photo. The 2 pieces on the left comprise one of the fittings I received. The one on the right is my old fitting, with a quick-disconnect fitting attached.) The outer flange (on top) is 3/8" ID, just as I wanted, but the inner stem is 5/16", not 1/4", as in my old fitting. I called Coilhose Pneumatics and they told that this WAS the right part for my hose. So, I proceeded to install them on my 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD air hose. I finally got them on, but it was a struggle. They are very tight.
