I threw it through the wash and dryer before using it and it came out a little wrinkly, but once it was spread out over the bed and pillows, not noticeable. This is my first time using a duvet cover-- I normally have just used my plain white duvet without a cover-- and the opening was plenty big to get the duvet in, if a little annoying trying to get it spread out perfectly. I see that there are very short ties in the four inner corners, but my duvet has nothing to tie them to, so I'm guessing the duvet will slide around a little inside.
