Would Demitasse sets fit well on these?

This holds a regular size cup and saucer so I think it would be too large for a demitasse set.

Would this hold a 8” dessert plate instead of a saucer?

Hi I have numerous sets of teacups, saucers, and 8 inch dessert plates. I just tried it and to me the 8 inch dessert plate is too heavy. I would fear it could topple over risking breaking the teacup. If the teacup is valuable or irreplaceable I wouldn’t risk it. Hope this helps.
