Are you someone who likes to build things? Do the Lego and miniature shop employees know you by name? If the answer to either is yes, then you would absolutely love this kit. If you're like me, you've likely seen the absolutely gorgeous videos of people building various kits and sliding them into their bookshelf, making them even more of a place of whimsy and magic. Of course this intrigued me! First, I need to give a word of caution. This kit is delicate. The pieces can break easily if you aren't careful, so take extra caution with the pieces here. This isn't balsa wood, but it's still thinly cut pieces of wood. They are still going to require some extra care. The kit comes with everything you need, so you should be able to start building right away. The only thing I'd possibly recommend would be a bit of extra glue, just in case. You're given a tube of industrial adhesive, but I know that everyone has preferences, particularly if they've built miniatures before. This is not going to be a quick process. Unless you are very experienced and very steady, this is something that will take a few days to complete. To this end, I recommend making sure that everything is glued and secured properly. Don't rush through this - it's better to take this slowly, even though you'll absolutely get excited and want to see the finished product right away. Good things come to those who wait.

This kit is similar to others that I’ve had. The instructions are clear to me, the quality doesn’t feel cheap and I love putting these together. The details are pretty good and it’s the perfect size to fit in my bookshelf. I’m still working on putting this together, they take me quite a while to finish!

Wow! Really enjoyed making this book nook! Highly recommend! First of all it was packaged meticulously! All the pieces are of good quality and everything fit perfectly without me having to cut or file anything down, and not to mention a super big easy to follow booklet! Non need to wire together the battery wires either! Was made with ease and the outcome is just beautiful!! I’ve made over 14 book books and this one is outstanding!

This is my 3rd book nook, and creatively it’s my favorite that I’ve done and also the most “sturdy.” Constructing the sunken ships took the longest. The materials are really well made, and it was such a fun project to do! The glue is pretty good, but the fog on the dust cover is from the glue, and it wipes off easily. The lighting is so cool, it creates a storm effect with the clouds. Definitely not a starter set, but great for someone who loves to be creative!

This was fun to do, but I was surprised by the mirror-image writing on the cafe menu. This model has all the usual hallmarks from Minicity designs. They include the glue, tools, high quality pieces, and detailed high quality instructions that set the mark for the way book nook kits should be created. And they do this at a very competitive price point.
