(Author) Review: Not what I expected. - OK, I guess I was a bit naive to expect an entire World Book Encyclopedia set for $5.00, but since the picture showed a 22 volume set, and the seller did not specify that it was not an entire set, and since it was a 1988 edition, (which I consider to be equivalent to a yard sale item), I thought it would be reasonable to assume that it was, indeed, a set of older, used, encyclopedias, worth about $5.00. I especially was impressed by the fact that the seller was desertcart approved, with a high satisfaction rating. However, I was very disappointed when I received my "World Book", only to find that it was just the "S" volume. That was it. Only one book. I suppose that it was my fault for expecting more, and for not fully researching the item, but after all, nowhere was it advertised that it was not a complete set. Thankfully, I was able to return it for a refund, but I am disappointed in the fact that the desertcart employee whom I contacted on the Chat site promised me that I would receive a set of encyclopedias in return for my returning the book. I thought that it was a bit suspicious, since the return label clearly stated that I would receive a standard refund. Well, I did receive a refund, for which I am grateful, but I only wish that #1, the seller had been more explicit in their description, and #2, the desertcart employee had been more honest in explaining to me that I was not entitled to a set, because I had inadvertently bought only one volume.
