After buying very expensive very nice scent lasting shampoos for our cockapoos we noticed almost a cheesy smell coming from one and neither could stop grooming themselves. Constant scratching and just not been able to settle. Thought we would try this and bosh all issues of that gone. Sure they don’t small like a glamorous hounds but they don’t smell dirty or cheesy and all the scratching and grooming is a thing of the past! I find using a pet wash glove or a sponge really makes this product go a very long way. We’re still on our first bottle bought over a year ago (or not far off) and still loads left and we go on big muddy walks so need to be ash out cockapoos 1-3 times a week. Great dog shampoo.

Used this shampoo on my Frenchie for the first time today and very happy with the results. He suffers from allergies and no matter how many time a bathed him he always smelt. He smells amazing and not seen him scratch once since I used it. Very happy customer.

Good shampoo

Good shampoo, helped me deal with bad skin flare ups last summer where my dog was in a real pickle with skin itching, clamminess etc. Using this shampoo, an antiseptic spray for the sore spots and a regime of diet change and careful grooming sorted him out. This is the only shampoo I used now just for routine washes when he’s been splashing in muddy puddles. As with all animal products it’s quite expensive, so I’m glad the big 5 litre jug goes a long way. I cleaned out an old Fairy liquid bottle and decanted 500ml into that so that I dint have to struggle with the screw cap and weight of the big bulk pack.

The smell is amazing, worked very well with my dogs skin irritations. Made her coat shiny and her skin is now soft and no longer dry

This products does not contain Clorexyderm so its not suitable for treating skin infections. Water (88.43%) → carrier, no therapeutic effect. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) (6.37%) → detergent/foaming agent, cleans but can strip oils and irritate sensitive skin. Sodium Chloride (2.7%) → salt, viscosity control, mild drying. Amides (C8-18, hydroxyethyl) (1.53%) → surfactants, help cleaning and thickening. Glycerin (0.162%) → moisturizing, soothing. Didecyldimethylammonium chloride (0.01%) → quaternary ammonium compound, disinfectant, antibacterial, weak antifungal. Alkyl (C12-16) dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride (0.01%) → another quaternary ammonium compound, similar disinfectant properties. Isothiazolinones (preservatives) → antimicrobial, but mostly to preserve product, not therapeutic. --- Comparison with Clorexyderm (chlorhexidine-based veterinary product): Clorexyderm works because chlorhexidine digluconate is a broad-spectrum antiseptic: Very effective against fungi (Malassezia, dermatophytes). Strong antibacterial effect. Binds to skin/hair for sustained action. The product you showed does not contain chlorhexidine. Instead, it contains quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs) (like benzalkonium chloride), which: Can kill bacteria and some fungi, but Are less effective than chlorhexidine against skin yeasts like Malassezia (the common cause of fungal skin issues in dogs). Can cause skin irritation at higher concentrations. Don’t have the same residual binding action as chlorhexidine.
