It's not The KEF you expect
Built quality is good.got three star because of that and because support aptx..,but,.for sound quality:It's not KEF That we all know.do yourself a favor...look for harman kardon Luna ..with half the price ,but It's sound better.

lol harmen karmin better? Lmaooo
Bro you crazy. This has dedicated tweeter and a large racetrack mid/bass driver. Harmon kardon doesn't like tweeters they made mid ranges. Learn speakers buddy

Gorgeous and great sound quality
Wow this thing is very cool, very heavy and feels well made. I like how the feet allow it to be positioned on its side or upright. The app is very cool also, allowing me to play with settings. I love it! Very pretty colors also. I like the cocoa brown; very elegant in person. Pictures dont do it justice.

Amazing
Unbelievable sound! Better than all competition. Still has to return because of 1.slight latency with MacOs. Beats pill offers better connectivity for Apple devices both with Bluetooth and usb c. 2.Also black model gets fingerprints easily. If you just care about sound or have an android/windows this is as good as it gets.

Beautifully made if size/portability is paramount, USB doesn't replace universal 3.5mm connectivity
Ordered via vine. I'm an audiophile so I'm used to my main much larger studio monitor and 10" studio sub, nonetheless I will do my best to rate this on its own merits in the mini portable speaker sector and it's applications. [EDIT] The USB does indeed have data/audio connectivity, but the original KEF USB-C wasn't being recognised by my USB4 port, however I used a more basic USB-C 240W/USB 2.0 Anker cable 480Mbps and Windows does indeed recognise it, I tested a few other USB-C non OTG cables also. Whether or not this would connected to my DAC, as stated I cannot test without buying a USB-C to type B adapter or cable. So I would have expected the KEF high quality USB-C to not have any issues with a USB-4 port, it might even be that the handshake doesn't work correctly just on my Mini-PC port. Based on that, now I know the USB audio and likely pairing functionality does work, on USB 2.0/3.1 GEN 2.2 ETC I must give this an additional star. I was also able to connect my iPhone via an OTG Lightning to USB-C and play lossless Tidal MAX/Masters I cannot say it sounded better though, actually it sounded the same. Or even slightly louder even with just basic SBC iOS codec so whether or not it's my older iPhone, the cable or it's actually benefitting fully from what would be a lossless line signal I'm not sure. But it sounds very good even on the lowest quality Bluetooth codec via iPhone so I'd imagine they have focussed on the Bluetooth Aptx Adaptive connectivity which makes sense. Whether or not you can pair 2x of these like earlier editions I also can't test even though it's listing images seem to clearly suggest you can pair these, I think it's more worthwhile as a single speaker anyway. [/EDIT] Very premium build quality all around, it feels like you're opening something quite special, similarly with an iPhone and Win 11 I could not test this in Aptx Adaptive so playing my Tidal Masters as 24 bit 96khz wasn't possible on basic SBC iOS or WIN 11 23H2 codecs, it is possible in win 11 24H2 I believe. The device is very well build at well under 30cm long, there's only so much the DSP and technology can do to prevent this sounding like a single mono speaker despite it having multiple drivers. When I have it at full volume 30cm from my ear (very nearfield), yes it does sound loud and good SQ, how much better the Aptx Adaptive and Tidal 24bit 96khz would have improved the clarity, I can only make a good guess that it would have been even better and for it's size it must have some quality drivers. I'm also used to loud 2.1 music, so I kept this playing for a while and I think the SQ and volume is OK at 30W RMS. The chassis is some aluminium, even the midnight black has a lovely paint finish that shines in the light its not merely black, it actually looks a sparkly charcoal-black but that is with my photo lamp on it, so the "Midnight Black" is actually far better looking and exciting than a pitch or matte black, it's paint finish and shine/sheen I've tried to capture, it more of a sparkly charcoal/anthracite finish in bright light. Definitely no dull or lifeless black on this premium paint job. Physical controls at the top, very simply but you can control it via your device. There is a Bluetooth pairing button and the USB-C charging port which the description says can be connected to laptops, I could not initially get this to work, nor with my Fioo BTR7 Mini DAC/Amp, however I was able to pause the music which suggests there is USB connectivity but it might not like the DAC or cable. It is a shame they have removed the 3.5mm for pairing and lossless universal connectivity to things like mini portable DACs, though it will have a DAC implemented anyway, it doesn't state which it is - if it did have 3.5mm then I could connect this to me dedicated AKM Velvet flagship chip which might have improved soundstage, but then I don't imagine many customers would buy these to connect dedicated DACs, whichever integrated DAC chip it has it's very good on it's own. Similarly, it mentions laptops can connect via USB-C that would mean this also works on any windows and other ports/cables - but I tested it and it wasn't recognised with original KEF cable connected to USB4, in 2026 most modern laptops will have anywhere from 1-4 Thunderbolt3/4/5 or USB4.0 so I would have expected the original cable to support common and typical USB4/Thunderbolt protocols, but I also can't rule out that it's an issue with my particular front USB4 on my PC. I personally would assume the USB provides superior and lossless wired audio connections but description doesn't elaborate much, if that's not the case I think removing 3.5mm was a mistake IMO, for £250 it would have made this universally more compatible for those who want 24 bit/96khz or higher bitrates than the AptAdaptive which iPhones don't support, many devices don;t. It still sounded good, it feels very solid with it's aluminium very tough and robust looking and rubber or syth rubber on each corner and buttons. I do like the KEF logo on USB cable and the lanyard, though I feel it is a bit too thin and should have been either a bit thicker or made or something ultra durable with a bit more size/mass, but that's just me and a very minor almost subjective non-issue. I don't think one of these at 30W at max volume can fill a room, maybe a small one with walls, it weights only 750g but again the thing feels solid, the speaker grille holes are well protected, the vocals are quite good, being under 30cm long soundstage is about as best as i'd expect. This is more of a mini portable Bluetooth speaker so it is hard to rate this as I really don't know this category/sector well but it's definitely made to be portable, it can stand vertically or it has 4 solid rubber like nubs which protect the device and keep it in position when horizontal. It's disappointing that even the claimed USB does not offer lossless, then it would be virtually only a Bluetooth device, not good for iOs/older iPhones and Windows 23H2 and below. However, I checked and apparently 24h2 supports it, that would elevate the quality and latency. I did not order this for making any calls I'll be honest so I can't even see a mic but if the description is correct, I don't know how often you'd want a conversation on loudspeaker, this is again where a 3.5mm input and/or output for IEMs might be useful, if you're on a train or something you probably don't want your call on loudspeaker, so I've not tested noise cancelling either. The device is an atypical shape, as long as you sit it on it's mini underside nubs both stablise and protect it horizontal orientation as it;s designed to sit. But equally you can also safely position it vertically it's got a very good paint finish and it feels solid in your hand for it's size. You get the manual and typical KEF quality booklet verry premium stuff with 2 year standard but 3 year extended warranty (after registrstion), there is even at least one mine it has "love grove" subtly debossed it italic like a signature so I'm not sure of this is hand made and that's a signature of the QC team or person who built it, it's very hard to see it almost looks like they've done it with something sharp. But it's intentional whatever it signifies it does look fine, minimalistic. Maybe they should have put a little badge or embeam, but its certainly by design. It is very well built although not as rugged as some others larger mid sized speaker which will use synth rubber all over to protect edges, with this it's not inconvenient but not something protected from all angles, you either have it on its horizontal rubber feet or vertical so some care has to be take. But its stable and has a layer on both corners, it;'s designed to sit either vertically with function buttons at the top, or sideways on it's mini nub/feet. Pairing is very easy hitting the button it will repeatedly make a sound and stop after some time, similarly when you turn it on and off it makes a pleasant sound. However I have swift pair enabled, many other much cheaper bluetooth devices activate it, and I have a very good dual high gain Bluetooth 5.4 realtek dock/adapter, but even at close range microsoft swift pair doesn't say anything, it connects with my iPhone 8 in the typical fashion. I might be doing it wrong though, also on Win 11 ver 23H2 but similarly it will connect to any phone in regular bluetooth as well as other supported swift pair modes. Overall the only thing that would be really inexcusable especially at this price, is the marketing implying you can pair two of these together, on the previous version you can, and 3.5mm but if you cannot pair this 2025 version then the marketing is misleading. Yes the vocals are very good and it's well balanced, a tiny bit muffled at max volume, but with a budget of £250 you can get universal LDAC and Hi-Res certified codecs, and a 3.5mm is typical and universally allows for lossless analogue connectivity with any device on a number of competitors. Though having not been in the small portable speaker market for a while, I couldn't speculate on how it compares performance/spec and value wise. The treble is accurate, bass is as you'd expect and midrange again for approx 25cm I don't know it's internal design, I would have liked to be able to either via BT or wired/USB/3.5mm connect my PC to this, and/or my mini Fiio DAC/AMP, or my dedicated larger DAC, this would have greatly enhanced it. Equally I have to consider that there are rivals with all of this connectivity and even LDAC and Hi-Res Wifi certified, which this is not, at least there are no stickers. For £250 and from KEF, the design in concept is good, but IMO it's lacking in connectivity that it had in previous versions, a small 3.5mm could have been easily hidden, and then I could play my Tidal masters. I have to be honest, I like the idea of 2x of these but then what could you buy for £500? And I can't spend £250 and listen to SBC or the lower Bluetooth codecs, they could have at least added aptx (classic) or something. So as you can see from my photos, it looks like a KEF for the most part, it's in the small portable speaker category so 30W if it's efficient is ok. 50W would be vastly better, and you can most definitely get higher than 50W from some other Hi-Fi brands that are reputable yet do not have the heritage and high end expectations that a KEF product almost always has, but 30W RMS is reasonable for it's size bearing in mind it's in the ultra portable 750g small portable speaker category. But with a budget of £250 unless small size and portability is paramount there are other small to mid sized competitors with more SPL that's for sure. Strictly comparing it to portable BT speakers it's own size, the 30W RMS and SPL is fine, SQ is above average. But you don't need to spend as much £250 to get a slightly bigger but vastly louder portable speaker, one with true stereo pairing functionality, so I can't say this is great value for money, for some it might be. For me personally it's not the portable speaker I'd choose with a budget of £250, but I can see it's appeal as a high-end premium and portable speaker that fits in small places etc. Again 30cm from my ear it sounds very good, but a 3.5mm would have allowed me to connect my tiny dual balanced Fiio BTR7 and so on if I wanted to, so I feel that's a missed opportunity. If the USB fully compensates for that then it would have been better but a 3.5mm in/out gives far more flexibility. It's rare for KEF to make products that are not fantastic, but I'd be being very, very generous by giving this anymore than 4 stars. I'm rating it impartially, for it's size compared to my much larger Adam AH8 pair with a 10" studio sub, the accuracy and clarity is not miles away being 10x smaller and my speakers over 10x the weight. So I'm an audiophile and used to louder and superior 2.1's of course. But I've considered this carefully as best as I can, I could arguably give this 3/5 stars but since I can't say I've bought and tested any of it's competitors for almost 7 years, my opinion is not an expert or well informed one in this speaker size and category. It's just the false USB connectivity and lack of versatility is unforgivable at this price, I don't want to spend £250 knowing i'm hearing low bitrate Bluetooth codecs, I cannot make the speaker really shine with Tidal studio masters. most people buying this will be serious about their music even though I'd say it's more suited to teenagers and younger adults maybe and also inevitably casual listing by nature. The image and USB description stating and implying these can be paired as a set in proper stereo and windows/laptop connectivity might disappoint a few. Otherwise, it is built like a tank, IP67 water/weather proof etc. For me it's only good at very close range, but for £250 I was expecting better from KEF. They couldn't have made it more more capable for it's size and dimensions, but even in my younger days this would need to be something really special and that I use frequently for me to buy it over larger/louder alternatives, it's not quiet at all for it's size for it's not "party" levels of decibels IMO, only as a personal speaker - That's fine as many will be buying it as a personal speaker over larger more powerful alternatives.

Modern and compact design - Great quality sound
The built quality is great and feels premium. The design is modern. It was easy to operate and the connectivity was stable. Portable to easily carry around. Seems durable to last longer. Also very loud. The bass is good so listening to music is enjoyable. Due to Bluetooth, many different devices can be connected to it. It is water and dust-proof. Arrived well-packaged. The price is slightly expensive in my opinion. Overall, I am happy to own it and will recommend.
