These skewers arrived well packed in a shrink wrapped retail box. The skewers are sturdy enough that they should last a long time. The overall length is a little shorter than my other skewers, but long enough to handle a typical kabob. The salt cubes are substantial and very tough. I was worried before I opened the box that they would be fragile, but these are strong and should last a long time. One image in the listing shows two skewers each with four cubes, but to be clear there are two per skewer for a total of four (as in the description). Using them they only add a slight salt taste. What I found beneficial is they kept the food slightly elevated from the grill - this reduced the tendency for some vegetables to burn. I found it is best to put these on the skewer and place a piece of meat at each end to ensure the salt didn’t fall off. As there are no handles I needed to use tongs to rotate the food. Overall Verdict? Nice product, your guests will all ant to know where you got them (and be sure to tell them not to try to eat the salt!!). I recommend this product.

These Himalayan salt block skewers bring a unique and fun element to grilling that’s sure to spark conversations. The salt blocks themselves are impressively hefty and durable, providing a subtle saltiness and helping to keep food slightly elevated from the grill to prevent burning. The skewers are solid and sharp, though a bit shorter than standard, and only two are included per pack, which may feel limiting for larger gatherings. One drawback is the lack of handles on the skewers, making them tricky to turn when hot—using tongs is necessary. The salt blocks have large center holes, which means they can slide around a bit, so it’s best to secure them with food pieces at each end. Cleaning the salt blocks can be a bit challenging and requires some effort. While some design improvements—like longer skewers, heat-resistant grips, and larger pack sizes—would enhance usability, the price feels quite high considering these functional drawbacks and the fact that the pack only includes two skewers.

So the skewers themselves (you get 2) are nothing to write home (or a review) about. They're run of the mill skewers; they're the metal flat bezel-cut tip type (not the round, pointy tip kind). But oh the salt blocks! The images says 1.7" and the description says 2", I can confirm that they are 2 glorious inches across (sides, not diagonal) and hefty (each of the 4 salt blocks is 90-95g of pink Himalayan salt). The center holes are generously sized so you can use them with your favourite skewers - they'll slip on to both round and flat ones. It's always a bit of a challenge of when to salt skewers - if you prep early, the meat & veg spit out their water, if you salt too late, it doesn't penetrate. So these are a great idea as well as a bit of a conversation piece around the BBQ! Bonus, the price-point is appropriate as a host or hostess gift if you're looking for that! (I'm keeping mine though; love 'em!)

This is a new idea (at least to me) to have Himalayan salt blocks added to skewers. I thought it sounded interesting and worth a try so I ordered them. Yes, they do add a slightly salty taste but only to the items directly beside them. I also found the blocks difficult to clean and ended up taking a clean scratchy to them. The skewers themselves are great, with a sharp tip ideal for piercing meats and veggies. I wish the package came with more than 2, however. The skewers cleaned up nicely in the dishwasher. Not a bad deal and worth a try if you are looking for something new to try on the BBQ.

Honestly i’m not much of a BBQ person, normally my boyfriend handles the BBQ, but I took over this time because I really wanted to try these skewers. I usually hate wooden skewers because everything sticks and they splinter, but these stainless steel ones were actually SO much better. The food slid on super easily, and they felt really sturdy. The end is very sharp so they can go through meat and veggies easily. The salt cubes were way bigger than I expected, and they have a hole in the middle so they slide right onto the skewer. They added a nice, light salty flavour to the meat so there was no need for extra seasoning. Just make sure your pieces of meat or veggies are a bit bigger than the salt cubes so the cubes don’t touch the grill directly. I found that that helped keep them in place and hopefully helps them last longer (we’ll see how long). One weird thing was that the box came packed with shredded paper, and some of it looked like random notebook or coloured paper scraps? It didn’t affect the product, but it was kind of strange and messy to open. I thought it was a fun twist on regular skewers. It’s definitely more of a novelty, but the quality is great.
