Lifetree Frosted Window Film Privacy, Frosted, 44.5×200 cm

I bought this for my kitchen door and small side window as I detest curtains and blinds and wanted something that would let the morning light in without being just plain glass. I’d previously tried a cheaper abstract pattern windows film, but it was so thin and flimsy and was a nightmare to fit that I binned it. I found this one and loved the pattern so after reading the reviews I bought some. The first thing I noticed was how much thicker it is compared to the cheaper ones. You can feel the difference in quality immediately and the pattern irl is even prettier than the pictures! There is real depth and variation to the design, so it’s very tactile and highlights the detail beautifully. It cuts very well and I would suggest making sure you use a sharp craft knife because you don’t want to drag the film as you’re cutting and make sure you cut it slightly bigger than needed. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and I was really impressed that they included two reusable sticky tabs that you stick to the corner on both sides of the film so it can be easily peeled from the backing plastic. I am not the greatest DIYer, but managed to fit it easily to my windows. Make sure you give the glass a good clean, then spray plenty of water on the glass and fit the film starting at one of the top corners. If you’ve ever fitted a screen protector on your phone - it’s the same principle. Just peel the film backing off slowly as you guide the film into place, then use a squeegee (or in my case - my Tesco clubcard) to get the bubbles out - going from the centre outwards. I found that the clubcard was very good for pushing the film tightly down at the edges and also had the advantage of giving me a perfect guideline for trimming the excess film. A wallpaper scraper would do the trick nicely too. The whole process was really easy and what was boring, plain glass, now looks really beautiful! It honestly looks like new windows and I’ve had so many people asking who did the glazing and they couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was considering its window film! I was so impressed with it that I bought more of it so I could cover my bathroom and en-suite windows - even though they were already frosted glass. They look fantastic now and really make a huge difference. When the sun shines through the window film it refracts the light, making pretty rainbow patterns on my cabinets and walls and at night with the lights on, the film looks gorgeous from outside and prevents people from looking inside. If you want privacy but still want the light to get in I highly recommend this film! It looks so beautiful and classy and you can get the look of brand new glazing without the expense! I have some internal glass doors and I’m planning to buy some more so I can do those too, because it really does transform boring glass and makes it looks wonderful!

Yea I am really surprised at this and got it for a small window on the side of my flat because my neighbours can see straight into my kitchen. But very easy to apply and yea went on really well once you have sprayed the water on the window to move it and to get all the air bubbles out. Yea would definitely get this again for other windows.

The product comes with all the tools needed to get the job done, including the safety blade and scraper to remove air/water bubbles. Very easy to install. Simply cut the sheet a little bigger than the intended surface, spray both the window and sheet with water (or water and soap solution) and apply. It’s then easy to remove the bubbles working from the centre out to the edges as you go. All in all, I did four biggish windows in about 15 minutes so pretty fast to install. They are really effective in the daytime (see photos). Even when you approach the windows from the outside and press your head against the glass, you really struggle to see inside. The effectiveness at night is lessened, but still better than just having bare glass (but we shut the blinds anyway). The tint is quite dark even in the day, so consider the effect it has on the ambiance in the room. It’s a sacrifice we are willing to make given the extra privacy we wanted, especially with our kids having a tendency to prance about without clothes (honestly, don’t know why we waste money buying them clothes!). I can’t really comment on their effect on heat loss or preventing the room getting too hot, I guess time will tell.

Keeps falling off the window unlike the lifetree brand I bought from another Amazon seller even after applying it 5 different ways a complete waste of money, I believe this isn’t life tree

I've used this stuff once before. Well worth the money. Folk who have been disappointed !!!??? may not have followed instructions. It is vital to clean your window glass scrupulously! Also using a, LOT of water sprayed onto window really does the trick. Have all you need at hand..before you start to apply. I put an old towel rolled up along my windowsill as there will be drips as you work. You also need a clean table top or worktop wide enough to unroll and measure and cut to size..I left a 2 inch excess on all sides. The "rough" side of the screening fabric, faces towards you. The other side has a static film over it. This is the side to put onto the glass. When you are ready to apply, pull this static film off slowly and carefully, bit by bit. Once you have got the screening fabric in place at the top (if you chose tulips as I did, make sure they are the right way up!) then the static film will come away easily in one sheet. Using a windscreen squeegee, firmly but carefully press the screening onto the glass from centre outwards. It's so easy to apply. I didn't have one bubble show up!! All it needs then is to trim the excess from all 4 sides. I used an ordinary sharp kitchen knife. I scored it first, the second time really pressed on the blade, and the excess lifted away fine. The effect is stunning. My pictures are rubbish! I put it up yesterday evening and it's solid as a rock. You would think it was beautiful engraved glass. I no longer have to look at a row of cars, and a rubbish tip of a garden...not mine!! So pretty when the sun shines it makes lots of little lights. Work slowly and methodically and you will be fine.

It's a bit of a mixed bag. Positives include the fact that the film keeps rooms noticeably cooler in summer and the privacy gains you get. Cons include the loss of brightness (opening a window to see the before/after is pretty dramatic), installation is difficult, especially if you're on your own (it's essential to spray both the window and the film, but even so, using the included squeegee can cause little ridges that permanently damage the film. Overall it comes in good sizes, looks okay and brings privacy gains, but the quality of the film and included accessories could be better

This is just brilliant! We’ve now used it on a lot of our windows and a couple of doors. It’s very effective and has definitely helped in this heat. Can be a bit fiddly to apply but the more ou do the easier it gets.

Wowser's what a diffrence fitted this yesterday to my kitchen and bathroom windows and there is a huge/massive difference from the heat coming into those rooms, I would say an 80% reduction on the heat. I'm going to order some more to do the 4 x windows in my conservatory. This stuff is so easy to attach to the windows, get yourself a sharp stanley knife/blade and a decent squidgy, also a sturdy measure for cutting straight lines. If I can put this stuff up, so can you. Easy peasy with a bit of lemon squeezy.

Funktioniert super, Zuschneiden und Anbringen hat an sich unkompliziert funktioniert - nur eines muss man wissen, die Folie zieht sich nach den Abziehen der rückseitigen Schutzfolie um mehrere Millimeter zusammen. Daher hatten wir beim ersten (exakt zugeschnittenen) Versuch leider Lichtspalte. Die nächste Folie (im Foto die obere) haben wir mit einer Zugabe von ca. 4 mm zugeschnitten, das hat geklappt. Vielleicht nützt der Tip jemand anderem, denn wir mussten nun leider noch eine Folie bestellen, weil wir es gern ganz dunkel hätten.

Adesione ottima (anche se c'è un po' da lavorare di spatola per dissolvere le bolle), blocco totale della luce. Prezzo onesto. Non si poteva chiedere di più.

Fácil montaje, hay que rociar con agua el cristal de la mampara, yo dividí en dos partes la pieza y la coloque sin ningún problema. Hay que intentar que no queden burbujas en el interior. lleva 3 semanas puesto y no se ha movido. recomendable.

Gran calidad, muy recomendable.
