A Fantastic piece of ingenuity! I recently purchased a Hybrid that had a port to help keep the battery charged and am able to get an extra 50 gas less miles before its time to pay the piper. The vehicle came with a 120volt plug in but discovered that when the battery was just 1/2 used, the 120volt plug in would take 6-8 hours to charged it back up. thats when I decided to try something different. How to begin the search? Well at my job as a pilot our company provides free plug in for any electric vehicle from Tesla’s to motorcycles and the surprising thing to me was that the plug-In fit all the vehicles. When I use this from my company the charging of a fully depleted battery took only 2-3hrs!. Thats when I began looking for a charger to set up at home, 3 1/2hrs from my office. Eviqo caught my eye first, a very sharp looking unit with a 25ft cord and according to the information, easy install, Right!!!!! After combing over the various types and models of electrical charges I settled on the EVIQO as the cost, power and looks are what made that choice easy in the end. The unit arrive very quickly as advertised and the EASE OF INSTALLATION began. (Isn’t that what they all say right?) The instructions were a little confusing at first because I wanted to connect it to a recently installed 240V (like an outlet for a cloths dryer) that I installed outside by the garage door. There are a couple different types and thought I had installed the wrong one, but the instructions steered me straight. Before mounting instructions have you open the unit up and dial in the power-out that you want 20-30-40-50 AMPS!!!! Once again I thinking “hear we go!” But after reading the instructors a few times and pondering the situation it all made sense. My breakers are 50 AMPS so 40AMPS is what the instructions advised. A piece of cake by following the instructions. Mounting was very easy if instructions are followed. Being outside yet pervious to the weather I decided to enclose the unit unit a cover to help it survive the weather here in land of unpredictable weather, even though it says it is protected from that but I wasn’t going to take any chances. After completion of this 3-4 hour journey the time came. First thing was to download the EVIQO app and set it up which was actually very easy. Lots of good information on it. Powered the 50Amp CB on and the EVIQO started to light up, very cool! Then it was plug in time to the vehicle and it worked perfectly. The app showing the charge and how much electricity is being sent along with the cost which depends on what you pay per KWH. This unit charged up my vehicles battery faster than the unit back at the office. Very impressive. An extremely solid and well built unit that looks good, feels good and works better than advertised. So if you are in the marker for the best charger no matter what you’re charging EVIQO is the way to go. It comes in a very very strong double thickness box and no way could this be damaged by the shippers, very safe travel all the way. A great company to do business with. I hired an electrician, doesn’t seem to be dyi. Works great. I have yet solar panels and batteries so this charger allows me to charge at home. Seems to be a good value and is very easy to use. The electrician said it was easy to install and thought that the quality was very high.

We bought 2 of these chargers. They work great and app is easy to use and the notifications work well. The J1772 connector is robust compared to other cheaper chargers. The mount for the charger and cord storage are metal and well built. The packaging is well done and includes instructions and templates for marking mounting holes. Mounting hardware supplied. Do your research on Nema 14-50 outlets, not all created equally. You can get Leviton, Hubble or Lider which are EV rated. Don’t cheap out on regular RV rates 14-50 outlets.

The GEN 2 was easy to install, the main unit is attractive, and the handle and cable are heavy duty and have very impressive quality. The app works well and gives me access to charging statistics, adjustable output control, and other useful information that my Chevrolet Bolt doesn't have available in the vehicle or vehicle app. I had been charging with a portable 16 amp 240v DeWalt EVSE without an app for many months. While it was simple and did the job, this upgrade to the EVIQO Gen 2 is a substantially better all-around experience. In my case I replaced the 14-50 power cord with a custom 10 foot 240v 6-20 cord (10 awg soow cable). I had to down rate the charger to 16 amps with the dip switch to safely use the EVIQO with my 20 amp circuit breaker and wiring. I can further refine the charge rate by adjusting the amperage in the app (7-16 amps). If you plan to do a plug conversion job yourself, be sure to use properly rated high quality cord, quality ferules, a high quality plug, and torque everything to the recommended specs (recheck torque in 6 months). Don't forget to set the dip switch! I have a short commute and a relatively small battery in my Chevy Bolt, plus I already had the 240v 20 amp receptacle in my garage. For me, it didn't make financial sense to upgrade to a 50 amp 14-50 receptacle or hardwire a 60 amp circuit, but I can do in the future if my needs change. At the time of writing this review, I believe the Gen 2 is a new product. I chose the Gen 2 over the Gen 1 primarily because I prefer ferules over ring terminals, especially with the modified plug I used, but also for hardwired connections. I also preferred the looks of the new j1772 holster.

My previous charger stopped working after 15 months. After checking reviews, including the excellent "State of Charge" videos, I purchased this unit as a replacement. Although it is twice the price of the previous unit, the quality is definitely much higher and it was easy to install. The connector is heavy duty including the lock mechanism. The pivoting holster is also surprisingly nice. The app is useful and I'm hoping it's a case of pay more, get more. Time will tell, but very pleased so far.

We recently made the “soft jump” to an EV by leasing one to see if it’s a direction we want to go in for our next car purchase. As part of that change, we needed to install a home charger in our garage. It’s important to understand your local electrical codes, but for us, installing a hard-wired charger with built-in GFCI protection made the process much easier. It saved the extra steps and cost of adding a 240V outlet and a separate GFCI breaker. Another advantage is that the charger consistently delivers 40A on a 50A breaker, and up to 48A on a 60A breaker. While I’m fairly handy around the house, this was my first electrical installation. I started the wiring from the charger using 6/3 wire, connected it through a junction box, and ran it in conduit to the main panel. My breaker box only supports up to a 50A breaker, so that’s what I installed — and I’m consistently getting 40.1A during charging. It took some time and patience to make sure everything was up to code, but it wasn’t too difficult. That said, there’s no shame in hiring a professional if you’re not comfortable with electrical work. The charger itself performs great and mounts easily to the wall. The app is a little clunky but functional. Overall, we’re very happy with the purchase — it feels like a much higher-quality unit than many of the other Amazon chargers my neighbors have

Solid product. Excellent packaging, easy to install. Good looking. Works well. App needs work. Not being able to charge across days without breaking it into two schedules (11-11:59pm and 12am-7:00AM) is clunky. Would also like the ability to export the data. Cable and plug are great- BUT you can’t replace the cable/handle (like other similar chargers) so if you have a J1772 car and you trade in your car and get a new car that has NACS you will need to replace the charger - not just the cable/handle or but a plug converter that is really not intended for everyday charging.

The was an upgrade from an older 24A unit that was more than enough for my old car. The new car can do 19.2KW. This unit will do 48A/240v (11.5KW) which seems to be a good sweet spot that can charge from low to full overnight. The J1772 handle is solid, latch mechanism is solid. Initially the app was reporting it offline even though it clearly was online. I contacted support and their solution was successful (factory reset and rejoin network) the app is simple and allows adjusting the max rate. The only annoyance so far has been the need to manually (via the app) or walk out and push a button on the unit to provide power for preconditioning. I checked with support and found out that there is no way to change that behavior. They did happily take it as a feature request for the app to manage. If you are on TOU electric rates, it does allow to set multiple rates and decent scheduling. I have not tested that, since we are on a flat rate plan. TOU plans are challenging if you have people in the house at all times.

We bought the EVIQO EV charger for our new Mach E so we could charge at home and track our charge history / costs. From the minute I opened the box, the quality of this unit was obvious. It was very well packaged, had tech support information right on top, had high quality cables and an awesome rubber coated charge handle. Installation was easy and so was the setup of the app. I plugged in the car and set the schedule to charge at 7pm to take advantage of low electricity rates. Everything worked as expected. It charged at 7pm and all was good until the next day. I have my vehicle set to warm up and precondition in the morning at a specific departure time, but it didn't work. I quickly realized the unit would not allow the car to start another charge session to precondition the car after charging the night before. Disappointed, I emailed EVIQO tech support to see what they suggest or if I setup something wrong. They responded within a few hours and said this was normal, but they could modify the charger firmware to allow multiple charge sessions without have to unplug / plug in the charger again. I could not believe they were willing to do so for my specific issue. Sure enough, within a few days, I noticed the firmware on the EVIQO charger had updated (on the weekend!). I immediately tried scheduling a charge etc again. It charged as expected and the next morning warmed & preconditioned the vehicle!! I cannot say enough about the customer support I received from this company. They don't just make a high quality unit, they stand behind their product and go above and beyond to make sure it works as expected. Do not hesitate to buy this product.

Promt delivery. Very easy to install. Could not link the unit to my phone. Works awesome! Charges my Hyundai Tucson 13 KW battery pack in less than 2 hours ! I did have to put 2 layers of translucent tape over the unit light because it is waaayyy to bright at night when charging. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase, I would recommend this to anyone.

I bought the charger for my new Vinfast VF8 and have been using it for over a month now. The charger has been performing excellent so far. I got the unit installed outside and the charger has worked without any issues at all in extreme cold conditions, rain and snow. The app is also extremely easy to use. The current can be set from 1 amp to 40 amps by a simple slider on the app. This is very convenient, as you can adjust the charging speed based on the load and requirements. The build quality is also very premium and it is a very well designed and sturdy product, overall. The manufacturer has contacted me a couple of times to know how happy I am with the product and to know if I require any support. They are available 24/7 for any requirements. As a very satisfied user, I definitely recommend this charger to anyone to plans to purchase or replace, and it is a value-for-money product and the performance is excellent.

UPDATE Installed, inspected and fast charging. The ease of etting up schedule for charging our Hyundai Tucson plugin hybrid is inexpensive, easy to schedule. Tech support was quick,fast and very helpful both prior to purchase and after purchase and installation. Takes 1 hour 40 min to charge and 12 Kwh @ 2.8 cents /kwh. When plugged into 115 amps takes 12 hours. Prior to purchase I asked for Tech specs for installing a 50amp service can wire requirements. Also asked about CSA standards and recieved all documentation. Once the electrical service was installed and inspected, this is truly a plug and play unit, that has easy to use software for my android phone. Many Units are available for less money. Safety and Warranty of 3 years and the Tech support is what sold me on this product. ISSUE TO BE AWARE OF: There is an issue with our garage door opener connectivity. Suggestions from Tech support did not fix the issue. We tried replacing our garage door remotes, then both backup batteries. Our electrical line is dedicated to only the EVIQO charging station plug. It has been suggested that the problem could be resolved by installing a newer garage door openers.( but no guarantee + costly resolve) as we purchased the plugin version of the EVIQO. The easy fix is to unplug the charger when not charging your vehicle. Our garage door remotes are fully functional now. Just thought I might save someone a lot if grief, problem solving and money by posting this information. I have asked Tech Support to look into this issue.
