This train set is a lot of fun ... it's even fun for adults, really. It allows you to be creative, building a zany train track on which the little toy trains will even run upside down. However, I do want to say that this is not a good bet for a child under age 5. I have three grandkids, ages 3, 5 and 8. The 8-year-old does well with it. The 5-year-old needs a little adult help. The 3-year-old can't deal with it at all; she's too young to fully understand the concept, and her hands aren't strong enough to snap and unsnap the pieces.

The kids absolutely love these and it really helps them problem solve when trying to create new trails. Wish they sold some of the pieces independently, especially the cross connection and by a second set as the kids are just creating bigger and bigger trails.

My three-year-old nephew absolutely loves this. He has made so many different tracks that I’m pretty sure we are going to end up investing in the larger amount next time. It’s a great value, super easy to assemble and change the positioning of all of the parts. He has thrown it or at least some pieces of it, and they’ve held up very well standing up for a great durability test. Definitely buy the larger one because the kids absolutely love it and it’s even fun for adults. The piece size is great for little hands and people with dexterity issues. Everything is functional. It was a great Christmas present.

So engaging that I ordered the deluxe to go the with the starter set. My 3yr old grandson loved it. He's too young to build the entire track himself, but he had a great time watching it, taking the train off & on, flipping the switch off & on, and watching it run in a dark room with the headlight on. Surprisingly engaging with just the starter set!

Really awesome. Definitely not meant for younger kids. It requires some thinking to piece them together. We put together the course that was on the box and we were unable to do so. We have all the pieces that are indicated in the set so the directions must be wrong. We’re unable to complete the track by one piece. Wish they sold expansion packs.

Good for toddlers and older children. Toddlers need help to build track, but have no trouble putting the train on the track. Then off it goes all around even upside down. They might like a second car to chase the other one.

Bought this for my great grandsons to enjoy and it’s playability is great and assemblies is great and it is a great value to see smiling faces on the little ones

My grandson loves this toy. It entertained him for a long time!
