My hair is slightly longer than shoulder length and no thicker than most peoples hair. The brushes were very plasticy, and could not actually brush through my hair. In my opinion the set was like what a child would use on her dolls hair. I did not rate it. Eventually threw them all and the stand which was useless with my other brushes also due to being so light.
