Review: My bathroom actually smells fresh now! - ~2026 update~ I'm still using these, and I still love them!!! I did try all the different scents, and tbh I didn't notice much difference. I just ordered more for this summer (I still haven't been using them in the winter bc I don't have an odor issue in winter) but this time I ordered the 50 pack. I empty the black tank about every 1.5 - 2 weeks. At the beginning of summer I always use a wand to clean out the black tank really well before I start using the packs and I think that helps a ton. Not sure how much longer I'll be in my camper full time, but I will always use porta paks for as long as I am in the camper!! **2025 edit** Just ordered some more of these, I bought the last bag in August of 2024. I didn't really use them throughout the winter because it was cold enough that they weren't needed, we weren't having any odor issues. But it has started to warm up some and the smell hath returned. I had 3 packs left after winter and just put my very last one in. I'm still just as thrilled now as I was when I first got them, I don't know what's in these but they definitely help eliminate the black tank stank! i ordered one pack of each scent, I am eager to try them all out. I would also like to add that I do NOT put toilet paper in our tank and we also have a bidet (which = more water in our tank vs just flushing) so I'm not really sure how much that changes the equation, but for us they most definitely work! ------ When I first got my camper friends and family told me not to even bother with the packs because none of them worked and were a waste of money. After trying many different kinds I finally gave up and went with the "dawn and fabric softener" approach that everyone said worked better than packs. While it did work better than most packs it was definitely expensive and there were still smells. I've been full time in my camper for almost 3 years now and I had pretty much given up hope. No more black tank air (un)freshener wafting through my camper! No more sewer showers from my fan sucking the stank out of the tank while I'm showering! I am so so so thankful I found these! It seemed like no matter what I did, how often I dumped my black tank, no matter how much tank flushing I did, or what I put in the tank there was always an odor in the bathroom. ALWAYS. I had just emptied the black a few days prior but added one anyways. I still had marvelous results. There was some odor in the camper when I emptied the black tank, but it was probably 1/4th of what it usually is. After I dumped the black I immediately added a pack and put several gallons of water behind it. I have had ZERO odor with the 2nd pack as well. I am patiently awaiting the next dump day to see how good it will work at keeping the odor at bay during a dump this time since I started off with a pack instead of adding a pack to an already stinky tank. I am just amazed every time I go in the bathroom it actually smells fresh and clean in there instead of stinky. This is the first time that has happened in almost 3 years. I am so very happy. They seem to work as they're supposed to. And they come in a resealable package that you can just zip closed so that's good.

**Q: Is it safe for septic tanks?**
A: I called Walex but did not wait for a call back. I emailed them right away too. This is their answer about Porta-Pak:Porta-Pak will not harm your septic system when being used by a single RV.  It would take 100's of RV's dumping the product daily into the septic system before the septic culture would even notice the product is in it.  The product gets so diluted in the holding tank there is nothing left of the product when dumped into a septic system.  I do have a question/suggestion for you.  If your RV was used I always recommend you filling the black holding tank as high as you can with fresh water and adding 1 Porta-Pak in the tank for 24 hours and let it clean the tank thoroughly before you use.  This will give you the reassurance that the tank is free of any old ill effects and leave you free to enjoy your camping.  This is also a good practice to do before winterizing, so that you prevent any foul odors sneaking up on you when you get ready to start camping again.   Congrats on the new trailer.  Enjoy your travels and be rest assured that you won't have to worry about the holding tank. **Q: A toilet bowl cleaner dropped as packet into toilet bowl-fizzes pink, cleans, and disinfects...it stops fizzing,toilet bowl clean. Flush. Whose is it?**
A: I believe but not positive that that is a mr clean or magic scrubbing bubble product not good for your rv or trailer set however ,it has chemicals that counter act the septic pals shown in this post .. it won’t ruin it right away but over time it will hurt the sensors and the clean out mechanisms

If I could rate this 100/100, it would definitely be this product for the win. I’m pregnant and the tank smell during the summer in Arizona can be terrible but with these.. it doesn’t smell at all!!! I would say these are a lifesaver for me and I vouch for this specific product. No other scent but this pretty purple pack lasts long! If the company needs to send some free ones out, I’m all for it!!! Get a big pack because it’s worth every penny!
