I am very pleased with the ramps I made with these ramp plates. Be sure you secure them to the load vehicle.
I bought three of these to make ramps to load/unload a 260# electric tricycle onto my 4-wheel drive truck which is almost waist high at the tailgate. Even with 8' ramps this makes a fairly steep incline. I used 2" x 8" x 8' boards as suggested to make the ramps. I painted the boards and while the paint was wet I sprinkled very fine sand onto the paint. This provided a nice grip for the wheels under power. IT IS ESSENTIAL that the ramps be secured to the truck or trailer. I accomplished this by attaching 1/4" chain to the truck cargo holds and then to the ends of a 3" board that crosses under the ramp boards. I quickly bolt the cross piece to each ramp with 1/4" bolts. (I didn't want to cut holes in the truck for this purpose.) This has held the ramps secure for me. I say essential because during the first week (before I secured the ramps) I was loading (back end first) under power and had just reached tailgate when a drive wheel kicked a ramp completely off the truck. The wheel was on the tailgate so no harm was done but it gave me a fright. The next day I was unloading and stopped 2/3 down the ramp. The unit has automatic brakes that engage when the power stops. This stop was enough to pull a ramp off the truck. That wheel was just 6 or 8 inches off the ground so it wasn't tragic but it provided me with a second fright. I have been using the secured ramps for two months and I am very pleased the their ease of use and performance.

easy and economical
These ramps are easy to use and make a convenient ramp for getting my lawnmower down the three stairs of my shed.
