This phone works great, when the 2nd phone didn’t arrive, shipper worked to get the 2nd phone sent right away. Good basic flip phone for calls and texting.

You need a new sim card or the one from the phone your replacing. I got this to replace 4058R that was having issues. Most AT&T stores workers don't know how to deal with these flip phones. I received a new phone that came with charging cable, power adapter, and new battery. No manual. You can download manual from AT&T. Will only work on GSM cell networks ( AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.). I transferred all the contacts from the old phone via bluetooth connection (i.e. old phone connected to new phone). Old phone had a blue sim card. Contacts are only stored on orange sims (i.e. if contacts are on sim you don't need to do a transfer).

Although the seller and the box says this is a TCL Classic, the official model number inside the phone is 4058W-2ATBUS1, which the TCL website says is a TCL Flip Go. In addition, as another purchaser pointed out, we got a message from AT&T that the phone is not compatible with their network. Despite that, we are able to send and receive calls and messages. We'll have to wait and see whether we run into problems with continuing to use this phone, but the seller should not be calling this an AT&T phone.

Very basic. Couldn’t sign into Gmail, always blocked me. Gave up, returning. No maps either. But if you only want a phone, then it should be fine. Seems like good quality. Just not the right phone for me.

Doesn’t support bands 66 & 71. These are essential if you have Mint Mobile (or T-Mobile). Having Mint Mobile, the phone is unlocked. Just put the Mint SIM card in and you are ready to go. Took 1 star off due to missing bands. Inside building there is little to no service in several places. Had the TCL Flip 2 before, and it didn’t work well on Consumer Cellular, haven’t tried it on Mint. This phone is a snappy phone that is lightweight and easy to text on the keyboard if you like flip phone texting. Missing those bands is a deal breaker for me since I need to be able to have reliable coverage inside. I think this phone is great if you have AT&T, which it was originally made for. It is unlocked, but lacking if you are on Mint Mobile. Was looking for a basic phone without Kaios. This fit the bill just didn’t provide enough coverage. Back to the Nokia 2780. Delivery was quick and overall this is a good phone. Just wish it worked better on Mint.
