Good alternative to sweetner
The Palm Jaggery along with Cane Jaggery and Coconut Jaggery each offer a distinctive flavor that is subtle and has the sweetness of sugar. These are so good that you must be careful not to overdo it.

Questionable mix of ingredients, quality has deteriorated
The initial product quality over the last couple of years were fantastic. The previous batches used to have a rich caramel brown color and used to form clusters of coarse particles which is quite normal for pure palm jaggery. But lately the colour and texture is noticeably lighter and finer. The authenticity of the current batch is questionable. It doesn’t feel premium anymore. I come from a household that uses blocks of palm jaggery since 20 years or so and I normally bake cakes for my clients with it. I’m a fan of Urban Platter products, but this one unfortunately is a disappointment.

Quality of taste, colour and smell of the product is good. The texture is also good, though it hardens in jar. I hope it is original palm jaggery.
