I chose the heart because it's girly and cute and chose the forget me not flower because they represent the love and respect you have for the recipient. I must say I was a bit disappointed that in reality it's not strictly speaking 'heart' shaped. The dip in the middle at the top of the heart isn't really there, just the point of the heart at the bottom. I have taken a star off for this.The chain is very fine as pointed out in other reviews but personally I think this adds to the girlyness of the item. I couldnt quite tell on the amazon photo what the sides of the pendant looked like so was pleased to see that its thick silver protecting the heart which contains real tiny poppys. The heart was slighly bigger than I imagined, I should have looked at the measurements, but even so its perfect.
