This generous 150g bag is roughly equivalent to a standard six-pack multipack, making it very good value for money when you look at the total quantity. The crisps themselves are excellent quality, with that distinctive hand-cooked feel. There are plenty of larger pieces, giving a satisfying crunch with every bite. They have an appealing golden colour, and it’s nice to see some potato skins left on, which adds a bit of character and texture. Flavour-wise, these keep things simple but get it absolutely right. The seasoning is well balanced, with just the right level of saltiness to enhance the natural potato taste without overpowering it. They’re particularly enjoyable in the evening, as that gentle saltiness pairs perfectly with a drink and leaves you reaching for another sip. Overall, a great example of how classic salted crisps should be done — simple, high quality, and very moreish.

I think hand cooked is not for me, although they seem quality, a bit too rustic for me. They are hard and greasy, compared to something like store's own brand 6 pack ready salted crisps, which I prefer.

These crisps are genuinely excellent for the price. The texture is perfectly crunchy without being overly hard, and you can really taste the hand-cooked quality in every bite. The sea salt seasoning is well balanced, not too salty, just enough to bring out the flavour of the potatoes. They feel much more premium than you’d expect from an own-brand product.

Even though we have different crisps around the house, these are the ones everyone keeps reaching for and this happens probably because their hand cooked texture which makes makes a difference because they have that thicker crunch that feels more satisfying than standard crisps and the sea salt flavour keeps things simple in a good way without trying to do too much. The 150g size also fine for sharing, although that depends very much on who gets there first make a me and my friends we make these crips disappear pretty quickly. Taste and texture is fine and I would buy them again.

The worst hand cooked crisps I've tasted and the best before dates on all bags was very short which might explain the poor taste and texture. All bags tasted very stale and were soft in texture rather than being crunchy. The crisps seemed like they'd been cooked in far too much oil too as they were very greasy and almost transparent in appearance like wafers of fat rather than a potato texture. I found them inedible and so would not recommend.

Excellent crisps! Lightly salted, as described and taste just as good as leading brands like Kettle Chips or Tyrells. Will definitely be buying again 😃

I used to love these chips before having my stoma operation, though they always left an aftertaste, they were very moreish. After having my stoma operation, these cause my bowels to produce just fluid, not diarrhoea, just liquid, it's like my body is passing some disgusting chemical out.
