Base dimension looks a bit narrow for a car cup holder. Any comments?

The 16 oz mug is narrow for a car cup holder and it will wobble a little bit, but I've never had any issues with it tipping over.

I’d like to put a spill proof thermos in my daughters lunch box. Will this drip or leak in a 7th graders lunch box?

The cup is spill proof. But there is a chance the latch might accidentally open inside a lunch box and cause leakage. We have insulated water bottles with different lids that will be better. Please see here: https://www.amazon.com/MIRA-Stainless-Vacuum-Insulated-Thermos/dp/B0764NRRHC/
