Bought after realising in the heatwave I need to drink more water... and that warm water isnt nice! This bottle arrived quickly, in nice packaging and looks very smart in its inky/navy blue colour. The choice of lids is very welcome - so far I've only used the straw option for cold water, but can say it works well, seem totally leak proof and is easy to drink from (I had a different brand before where the finger loop bumped your nose when tipped up to drink). The bottle shape is taller/thinner, so it fits the pocket on my backpack where the short/fat ones simply wouldn't. My water stays cold all day long, and has absolutely no odd taste. All in all, this feels like a solid purchase and great value - I hope it'll give me years of use.

Best water bottle I've bought and I've bought a lot of them. Very sturdy and well made, slightly large but so am I so its not an issue. The two different caps offer smooth easy drinking. No leaks as of yet and it comes to a building site with me everyday. Keeps water cold even in the midst of a heatwave. Cleans easily and I havent detected any lingering odours. Due to heavy duty nature it is has good stability and requires a decent knock to get it to tip over which is always a bonus.

I desperately had to find a decent, inexpensive bottle to replace my old, terrible ones and finally, after days of research/contemplation, I decided to take a gamble on this bottle... I was not disappointed! I would firstly like to point out that the colour is beautiful, really is nice; absolutely stunning! Such a distinctive hue and a pleasant appearance overall... The packaging was really good as well. Everything is as described & looks exactly the same as in the photos!.. It comes with the 2 different lids - one is a twist-cap (pour) & the other is the traditional flip-up mouthpiece with a removable internal straw. Both seem to have ample leak-resistance, with the twist-cap being 100% leak-proof (the straw-cap seems to leak from the air-intake seal on rare occasions - related to air pressure/volume). It comes with a spare straw + a dedicated straw cleaner (tool) which is very handy as I would have had to purchase one separately! One thing I will say, is that I, personally, do not like straw bottles as the build-up/harbouring of bacteria is a lot quicker & more plentiful with a straw-fed bottle + straw/flip mouthpiece and I do not like the taste after while of usage with the straws (no matter how much it is cleaned). I much prefer the open/pour lids as this massively reduces the amount of bacteria growth + places for it to get stuck into! I am having a problem with the straw lid already, after a few days I noticed it was getting harder to drink ('suck') any liquid up out of the straw and realised that the little silicone/rubber air-intake is not working properly - if I blow really hard, eventually it builds up too much pressure and pop opens the tiny air hole but when trying to drink again, it will not allow much air into it-it feels like it is 99% blocked and will only allow 1% of air in, thus meaning it takes up to 20 seconds just to get a mouth-full of drink from the bottle!? Besides that (I never liked the straws anyway) I am using the twist-cap lid & the bottle is in general, great! The inner-lining does not make my drinks taste funny like a lot of other bottles do (even some of the expensive ones) but this one seems fine to me - I love the colour and design! I like that the lids have built-in loops that you can use to clip on to something (like a carabiner then to your bag) and they are genuinely robust; the straw lid has a movable egg-shaped loop with a thin silicone layer over the hardened plastic that feels incredibly durable - the pour-lid has a fixed hardened plastic loop that is more of a rounded-corner square shape and has a nice arm-pivot system/mechanism to hold the twist-lid at a certain angle threshold to ensure that it stays in place when raised & lowered. A good design. I would recommend this bottle! It holds a fairly decent amount of drink (I used 2-3 bottles-worth, at least, each day). I have also dropped it quite a few times by accident, from height, onto extremely hard surfaces/objects and it seems to have exceptional durability as it has not received any damage whatsoever; I can see myself owning this and actively using it for a serious length of time from now! It keeps drinks consistently cool for a decent amount of time - I can not comment on hot beverages as of yet (but will update my review when I do try insulating one in the near future). I definitely would purchase another one.

I bought the 1.9l version of this bottle and it is so huge that I am quite convinced that I could hike the Appalachian Trail without having to stop to refill this thing, but I would probably have some pretty severe arm ache at the end. I don’t think you could use the carabiner to hang it on your waistband as it’d pull your trousers down instantly. Thankfully the attached para-cord handle is very robust. I tested its insulation properties on arrival and I can confirm that eight hours later, the ice cubes I put in there are still solid and my water is cool and refreshing, even in balmy 26°c UK weather. Deducting one star because the straw stops about an inch short of the bottom of the bottle and the vital defence whistle doesn’t work (although I’m sure swinging it round at arms length would work equally as well in a pinch.) Great bottle! Looks good, doesn’t leak, keeps drinks cool, two different lids are very handy. Even comes with a second straw and brush for cleaning. Easy to carry with the small handle.

Been using it for a month so far, it's held up super well and keeps drinks super cold for a long period of time. I slap some ice into the drink and it remains cold for hours on end, even in the current 36 degree weather. It's super easy to clean. Pretty durable, I've dropped it a few times and no problems. Occasionally, it can leak from the top a slight bit but that i believe is just the vacuum seal causing it to have excess leak out of the straw area and me closing the flip up straw pretty quick. Overall, definitely recommend this product!

These are fantastic water jugs. They're a bit expensive, but HydroPal are very much the cheapest I've seen of this style. I expect them to last many years, so they are worth it, especially when a deal comes along. I have two 1.9l jugs and a third on the way (job related!) I'll be getting a smaller one too for the usual use. All the lids have worked properly for me, without leaks, and are a joy to use. The "chug" lid works great for topping up smaller bottles (e.g. dog watering bottles.) I suggest checking the seals are correctly in place before putting the lids on, and don't overtighten for the sake of it. Some are complaining that the straws fall off. May I suggest installing them properly - all the way on? I know it takes effort but it's worth it. I think this also reduces the chance of the straw end splitting over time. I recommend dipping the end of the straw in (hot?) water, then push and *twist* the straw firmly onto the 'nozzle.' I appreciate that it takes some strength, but find a way. Maybe wrap the straw in cloth for grip? Alternatively, some 6mm inside diameter silicone tubing would go on easier. (Might also be a fix for anyone who gets straws that are too short, or break.) The paracord handle and carrying sleeve work brilliantly. Worth spending the extra for that version IMO. One of mine is the version without these. Some report the plastic handles on the lids can break, so I've made a bottle sling using paracord and a knot called a, erm, bottle sling. It binds perfectly into the groove at the top of the bottle. Not an easy knot (for me!), but hopefully it's a one time job. I'm only using these for plain water, sometimes with ice, and I'm happy so far. I use a Contigo Autoseal mug for my coffee. But I am tempted by the idea of having 1.9l of coffee on me during my work day! I must try it at least once.

Had this bottle around 6 months now and it literally comes everywhere with me. I bought the 1000ml version and it’s weighty but feels such good quality. Keeps water cold for hours, it comes with multiple options like a straw lid or a lid you can sip from. Handle on it feels strong, I even dropped the bottle outside on concrete and it barely dented - very impressed and would highly recommend.
