Q-Workshop Steampunk Dice Black/White (7 STK.) Board Game

I bought this dice set for my husband. We play Dungeons and Dragons quite avidly and like to have the best tools for the job. These dice are beautiful and functional, great craftsmanship. As the DM of our games, I wanted him to have a detailed set but also still be able to read the numbers so he's not taking time out of the game to decipher his rolls. These dice are perfect!

The dice themselves are pretty good... if your eyesight is good and you're familiar with their quirks. When I say "quirks", I mean that the '6' and the '9' can be difficult to tell apart on the 12 sided die. On the 20 sided, it's not that tough since the sides are triangular and there's a dot under both the 6 and the 9. On the 10-sided, again, the sides are not symmetrical so it's pretty easy to tell when it's a 6 and it's a 9. The 12-sided, however, has pentagonal sides and when I rolled them for the first time and got a 6, I actually had to pick the die up and see what was on the other side ('7') to be certain it was, in fact, a 6. If you look closer, there are some obvious differences. (One, the pattern around the numbers is not perfectly symmetrical and the 9 has a period behind it.) So once you're familar with these quirks, they're perfectly serviceable dice.

The detail on the dice is wonderful. Each die has a different design than the others, but they all keep with the steampunk theme. I almost expected some spillage of the white onto the black of the dice, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the inked bits were all cleanly applied making a great-looking set of dice. I docked 1 point for the packaging. When I received the dice, the little plastic window on the box had moved somehow and all of the dice were rattling around in the envelope. They were all in the envelope, but when I buy something that is labeled "New" I expect it to still be inside the original packaging. Because of the way I received the dice, there's no way for me to definitively say whether these were new or used.

These dice are a bit smaller in comparison to the sets I have from Chessex but they are very lovely and roll well. They can be a bit hard to read due to the design and smaller size but not so much that I have ever spent more than a second or two figuring out my result. Very pretty and a great addition to my collection.

I purchased these dice because I really liked the design and quality with these dice. I first found out about these dice from the guy who designed them. He told me about how this company had thrown a contest that he happened to have won that led to the production of these dice. I also plan to buy the dwarven metal dice as well because he designed them too. I highly recommend these dice to anyone.

The set came in a nice box that placed each item in its own compartment, and which arrived sooner than expected. The die were top quality, the graphics nicely evocative of the Steampunk genre. Most important, though, they roll well - something that matters a great deal to the gamer who needs good rolls to enable effective attacks and damage during gameplay. What's that? Ah. Yes. Yes, I'm a geek. And now I'm a geek with some awesome dice! I highly recommend the seller! 'D

D20 rolled kind of s***ty, but can't fault the manufacturer for that. It's kind of hard to see the dice in a well-lit room if you drop them on the floor, due to the mix of black and white decals - so be prepared to lose a few if you're not keeping track of them. The dice also didn't turn any heads at the gaming table like I was really hoping (considering the price). Ended up trading them for a plain set of reds.

These were more than what I thought they would be. Detailing dice is a hard thing to do, and even harder to get it perfectly. I've had a lot of dice where the detail was too fine and ran into each other. I couldn't believe how clear these were!!! They give the near perfect ratio of rolls expected of any dice. They are so pretty to look at and exceeded my expectations!

Un peu cher pour des dés, mais un petit plaisir ne fais pas de mal. Parfait pour les JDR steampunk, très jolis!

One of my favorite sets to use! No degrade of quality after a year of use!

Purchased as a gift for a steampunk fan and he was quite thrilled with the look and quality. Would buy again.
