A nice kit.
A nice kit, generally well moulded but a few of the things struts broke when being removed from the sprue and needed to be remade. Good instructions and very good and detailed decals

Great kit
Highly detailed kit not to be confused with the old airfix model, some delicate parts which need carefull removal from the runners. Great model and arrived in three days after placing order. Highly recommend.

This Fantastic New Hawk Kit Will Challenge Your Modelling Skills
This new kit is a considerable upgrade from the old Airfix kit I remember buying with my pocket money circa 1977. So far I have only opened the box to check there are no missing parts, but as a fifty-something sad bloke I have to admit this is going to challenge both my eyesight and my fine motor skills if I am going to do it justice. The mould quality is excellent, but with so many tiny and delicate parts I would recommend the use of a sprue cutter and a fine scalpel to remove them from the sprue tree. The kit also includes a a decal sheet (again, very tiny details) which is absolutely terrific and should really enhance the look of the finished model.

Fabulous model
An excellent model. Clear instructions, easy to build. Very good detail. Far superior to the earlier airfix version. Highly recommended.

Good Kit.
Nice kit of an interesting subject. The Hawk was the attack version of the iconic Eagle transporter from the classic tv series. The Hawk appeared in one episode.

It's not a Nissan, it's a Hawk
Fairly decent kit for the price. I got this to complement my 1:72 Eagle, which it does nicely. Not the easiest thing to build considering the size, and care needs to be taken with 'handed' parts as this is not made clear in the instructions.

Okay
Not a difficult model, but difficult to get a nice finish on. A few fiddly bits, but not as pleasing as the Eagle model.

Nice model for an iconic Space: 1999 ship
Although the Hawk only appeared in a single Space: 1999 episode, "War Games," it would have had more appearances had the show lasted beyond two seasons. It was intended to reproduce many of the basic design features of its more general-purpose cousin, the Eagle, but stripped down and intended solely as a warship. Anyway, on to the model: It's very well-produced, and the directions for assembly are clear. The pieces came off the sprues without much trouble or deformation. I would only suggest that take extra care when cutting because some of the pieces are very, very small and it would be easy to cut off a thruster nozzle or cut into one of the extremely delicate pipe assemblies accidentally. In my set, only a single piece, half of the rear main engine assembly, had any flash on it—and that came off easily enough with a soft file. Everything went together fairly smoothly. I'm about to start on the painting (having decided to paint post-assembly, since I'm using an airbrush for most of it), but painting before or after assembly is entirely up to you. It just seemed to me that with all the super-delicate pipe pieces and lattices, it would be better to paint after. That way also, by using dark primer, hopefully I can get a nice under-shadow effect in the crevasses. I'll admit, I'm a little daunted by the decal sheet because there are SO MANY of them, and a lot of them are very small. It's going to be a challenge for these semi-old and shakier-than-when-I-was-younger hands. One thing to mention is the kit offers full decals and painting guides for both the original all-white production prototype design, as well as the version shown in the episode where the Hawk had orange highlights. According to the lore, the director felt the Hawk looked too much like the Eagle, and so had the orange added at the last minute. Personally, I prefer the original colors, so that's what I'm going for. Anyway, it was a pleasure building this model and since it's my first in many years, I felt it was good practice before moving on to the much larger 1:48 scale Eagle transporter model which will be my next project.

Buen producto
