So are you all saying that it is not as advertised and still giving it such a high rating? **Q: White vs grey for living room with black out curtains, use mainly at night. I have a white pull down now that works well in another room.** A: Gray is used to increase contrast and enrich colors. It has little to do with brightness of the room. Many midrange projectors won't do blacks well, and the the gray helps with that. A quality white screen is probably fine. Depending on your projector, a gray screen might offer a slight advantage. If your room is very dark be careful not get a screen with too much gain. Gain affects the brightness.
