Great pump and even more awesome customer service from Geared2U
I bought this pump almost 3 years ago and it has been my only pump for my bikes, and as I ride year around I use it quite a bit. It is a solid little pump and it doesn't take long to air up a standard 700cc tire. Recently it started not threading onto the valve stem, I don't know if I had damaged the threads or they simply wore out - remember, this is the only pump I have used for 3 years. So I emailed Geared2U and asked if there was a repair kit or if I should just order a new pump - which I would have had no problem with. Instead they apologized profusely and sent me a new pump. Are you kidding me? That was incredible! I love this pump and am a solid fan of Geared2U!

Problematic for Presta Valves
For years I never had to actually use the pump to fix a flat tire. That changed recently. I quickly changed my road bike tire and started inflating the tube. Because they're high pressure tires and tubes, I would have to tighten it quite tight for it to stay on and not lose air. Unfortunately every time I'd loosen it to take it off it would pull the center Presta core out. After more than half a dozen failed attempts, I had to call my wife to pick me up. I think if they had the threaded portion a little longer it would not be a problem for presta valves. Converting to CO2.I didn't give it a 1 star because it is actually remarkably easy to pump up a tire to high pressure using it.

o-rings failed after a few uses
This review could go to 4 or 5 stars depending on the Geared2U company reaching out to me. I purchased this on Jun 26th and it worked well the first few times i used it. Then two emergencies occurred, while going over a rocky path i had a pinch flat, used the pump on the spare and it was taking forever, my buddy bailed me out with a co2 pump as my 2 yr old and his kid were less than pleased with the time it was taking for me to pump up my tire. The next day i return to my daily commute, wonderful sunny day in boston, and on the ride back i went to top off my tires as some of the co2 had escaped and my tire went down to 30lbs of pressure. I could hear hissing from the pump and everytime i tried to pump it it just was doing nothing. I had a long walk after that, once i got home and checked my tires, and rechecked the pump and could hear hissing as my tire bled out through the pump. I am hoping it can be replaced or fixed as it worked a few times, and its light and had a small profile on the bike as well.

Pump it up
I did a bit of research and looked around for a quality pump before purchasing this.Pump performs as advertised and I like the high pressure option.I also paid almost double for this two years ago than what it sells for now...The rubber strap that holds this in the bike mount broke after a very small number of rides, which means it isn't secure, which means I don't want to take it to risk losing it, which defeats the purpose of having it. However, my local bike shop had a quick cheap fix, cross-sectioned tubing from a bike tube. Made a nice thick rubber band that will hold as well as original and readily replaceable. This is not an every day pump, it takes some time to open it and assemble everything, so I use a full stand-up pump most of time, but this is a great back up.I did not receive a discount on this product for my honest opinion, I paid full price for the item.

Terrific!
[Follow-up - having had the pump for more than a year, and used it occasionally, I would say my original impression was more than satisfied. I would even add that the telescoping pneumatically-active handle provides more pressure, per pump, than I would ever expect in such a small unit. This thing works incredibly well, and is crafted to match!]This is my initial impression - I just received the pump, and have done only a small test. However, the design and quality are so much better than any other compact/portable pumps I've seen that I have to register my enthusiasm. I'll follow-up, however, if my actual experience with it does not live up to this first impression. The pump feels quite sturdy and closely toleranced. According to my postal scale, it weighs 170 grams (6 oz) - a bit less than a CO2 inflator plus a spare cartridge. I tried it on a tire I already have inflated to 65 lbs, and had no difficulty adding some more pressure, nor connecting and disconnecting the tire stem. Most of all, I love the design of the connector hose. They're right about the perils of a connector that's solidly embedded in the pump handle - too much strain on the tube stem. The built-in retractable host is terrific! On top of that, the way it converts between Presta and Schraeder is equally impressive - altogether, an outstanding emergency pump!

Great pump but not if you have small tires and straight valves
The pump is a quality product, but as is always true, one size does not fit all. I'm sure this pump is perfect for regular size bicycles and larger tires. It might even be ok for smaller tires like on mobility scooters, but only if the tire has an angled valve. On my 12 inch scooter tires I could not get the hidden hose attachment to fit between the straight valve and the rim of the tire, no matter how hard I tried...it just won't fit in that small space because of the combination Shrader and Presta attachment. The only answer for me is to get angled valve extenders or inner tubes that have angled valves. There is no question that this is a great pump. With the tube out of the tire it attaches easily and the pumping action is very smooth and provides a great deal of air with each push. I've had several pumps and this is by far the best made of all of them, but again, there's no such thing as one size fits all. I will keep it and buy the extenders, but I wanted others who have smaller wheels like on mobility scooters to be aware that just because there's a hose doesn't mean ti will work on your tires.
