**Q: How do you get the metal insert to go in all the way?**
A: Dear customer please do not worry, this design is just right, when you push the plug into the shell just take little bit hard is ok, it is easy. 
Step 1: Put the Cable through the housing to the plug 
Step 2: Solder the cable to the plug 
Step 3: Push the plug into the shell until the shell holds the plug

**Q: What gauge wire do these connectors support?**
A: I am using these with 18 gauge Pomona test lead wires, very nice choice.

**Q: What AWG size will this fit?**
A: the end is 4mm. best fit 14awg. 12awg will be tight

**Q: No matter what I try the metal part does not go fully into the plastic cover. Are these defective?**
A: Check the solder joints, no higher than the metal
Push it with the help of a female plug or another probe
