what software can i use? to be able to read my smart card with this reader/writer.

This device has many purposes and for every purpose there are different programs. This is also the reason why there isn't any software provided with the device. It really depends what card you have. In most cases card issuer provides you the correct software.

Which cards are compatible to write to these cards?

Ormai utilizzo questo lettore da più di un anno e non ho mai riscontrato problemi. L'ho acquistato per la tessera sanitaria (ER) e fa il suo dovere. Lo utilizzo con un Mac e, anche in questo caso, zero problemi di funzionamento. Per il lavoro che svolge è un lettore con un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.
