Shake it up!
I bought these because they have the most protein, for the least calories of any shakes in cans that I could find. The taste is not bad, a little on the sweet side for me, but they blend well with fruit. I give them 9/10! Like all shakes they taste better cold, and I find it easier to drink if I blend it with crushed ice. Great way to get some protein when I am not eating much.

Almost all calories from protein
Q: I'm not the typical customer of keto-type stuff, so why continue reading my review? A: Because I have medical need of a diet restricted in calories, high in protein, with healthy fats (eg MCT oil), low in carbohydrate, almost devoid of fiber. Q: How does the Slate ultra-filtered milk with 42g protein/Serv help me meet these needs? A: My primary nutrition source is my rx that runs by pump continuous into my jejunal feeding tube (peptamen intense very high protein), and the Slate is my oral "pleasure eating." Almost all of its calories are from protein (42*4=168); it contains the lactase enzyme (digestibility); all three flavors taste good; sometimes I’m full from just half the can, other times from the whole thing, but either way I get long-lasting satiety so I think the portion size is good. Q: How does this compare to medical sole-source nutrition? A: In a nutshell, your health would decline if you tried to live on this alone long-term. (Whereas I can—and have—lived long-term on my peptamen and water alone.) Q: Cons? A: The price is steep. Oh, and if you set the can down for too long in the middle of drinking it, a milk mustache dries on the rim and feels weird when you go to start drinking again. But I wouldn’t really change anything about it. It’s perfect for keto diets, people who need a lot of protein for energy to exercise, and those of us who metabolically emulate sloths.

Taste Great, 42 Grams of Protein
I absolutely love Slate! I’m a chocolate lover, but salted caramel is the best! Smooth and with 42 grams of protein, I meet my daily requirements.

The best ready to drink protein shake on the market
Absolutely phenomenal. I've been cutting weight while trying to maintain as much muscle mass as possible and this fills the niche perfectly being so high in protein for relatively few calories. Obviously straight whey isolate has an equal if not better protein to calorie ratio but let's be real, sometimes you just want to open a can and get on with your day instead of mixing up a protein shake. Outside of that, the ingredients are pretty clean and fairly simple, no stomach issues at all, and it's got a solid vanilla flavor with a nice thickness to it. Even the price isn't absurd when compared to other ready to drink protein shakes, given that this basically outclasses all of them in every conceivable way.

What's up with the particles/pieces that won't break up?
I have bought these at the market and have not had any issues. I happened to buy these here online and there are particles in them. Not sure what it is, but it grosses me out. The drink taste fine, it's the particles that throws me off. I even tried pouring it in various shaker bottles, while some do go away, not all of them. Will not be purchasing this product again. I would return them if I didn't try to salvage them by putting them in shaker bottles.
