A very smooth, beautiful drawing pen!
This is a very smooth, beautiful drawing pen with unmatched build.PROS: Why I love these pens:— Excellent smoothness.— Superb grip.— Very light yet well-balanced pen.— Looks beautiful.— If taken care of well, will last a lifetime and maybe more!— The original Rotring ink is deep black and opaque, so I use only that.— Much, much darker than any of the fineliners available.CONS: What is not right about it:— Too expensive! The story behind spending so much on a drawing pen:Way back in 2007–2008, I had bought the EF, M and B nib thickness of these pens from Himalaya Stationery, Mumbai. Then, these were around Rs.750–Rs.775 each, which was also considered expensive at that time, for a drawing pen.Back then, my workplace used to be in Lower Parel. But, in 2009, I decided to leave the business partnership I was in, and started working from home. later, that office underwent a major renovation and all the old stuff was thrown away. I had asked my then business partner to look out for the tin box containing the three Rotring pens, but she was unable to find it. So I considered those pens as lost treasure. In 2013–2014, I ordered all four variants— EF, F, M, and B—from Rotring's international website since they were very difficult to find locally. But after a few weeks of ordering them, I had stopped drawing and sketching because I wasn't getting any time from my business. So these four pens were never used, and are still with me in brand-new condition. In 2017, my part-time accountant, who still works at the same office, surprised me one day with that old tin box containing the three pens I had bought in 2008! Since then, I have two sets. The one complete set I got from Rotring's site, and then the old, incomplete set without the 'F' variant. The ink cartridges were still attached to those old pens, and I was under the impression that they would not work anymore. But, to my surprise, when I decided to give them a shot by cleaning them with plain water, three weeks back, all the three pens started to work perfectly!Recently, I have started drawing again, and I did not want to open the untouched set from Rotring's website. So I ordered this 'F' variant to complete the old set!Believe me, although these pens are very expensive, they are a hundred times better than any of the black fineliners available in the market. If you are either an artist or a pen collector, these should be in your collection. Go ahead, buy these without a second thought. Worth every rupee spent.
