## Description

The XF23mmF2 R WR is a wide-angle lens with advanced image resolution, capable of drawing out the full performance of Fujifilm's proprietary X-Trans CMOS sensor. It has a similar size and design flair of the existing XF35mmF2 R WR, to make up a stylish collection of compact lenses. The inner-focus AF system uses a stepping motor to drive the focusing group of lens elements for silent and fast autofocus. The metal exterior gives a sense of premium quality and robustness, and the aperture ring and focus ring have been designed for optimum operability. The lens is also weather and dust resistant and operates at temperatures as low as -10°C, making it an ideal choice for outdoor photography.

Review: Must buy! - Phenomenal lens. gives an equivalent of 35mm field of view. This is good for all purposes, including portrait. Tho for portraits and shallow field of view, you will need to get up close. Otherwise, a great lens for travel, street and landscape photography. Superb colors and love the contrast that it gets. Weather resistance is another bonus. complement my X-T2 and makes for an extremely small signature on my X-T10. Very sharp and the F2 helps. Happy to happy it as part of my primes trilogy.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How would you compare this 23mm/f2 with the 23mm/f1.4? Seems to me that the 1.4 is sharper -is that why it is more expensive?**
A: I have both. The f1.4 is magical. The extra bokeh that you get with the lens is special. It also has a slightly more natural look if you are taking portraits. By this I mean there seems to be a touch less contrast in the image.  The f2 is very nice as well. It is FAR lighter and easier to carry around. It truly comes down to your needs. If your #1 priority is image quality over weight then get the 1.4.  I got to be honest though and tell you that I didn't take my camera out more than I would have liked specifically b/c I knew how much bigger and heavier the 1.4 was.

**Q: Is this lens waterproof?**
A: It is a "WR" lens, so it is moderately weather-resistant. Please keep in mind that only certain Fuji camera's such as the X-T1 and X-T2 are also weather-resistant...Fireside Camera.

**Q: If the filter size is 43mm will any screw on 43mm nd filter work with the lens? basically point me to a nd filter for this lens**
A: Yes, any 43mm ND filter will work, screw onto the front of this lens. There are several listed on Amazon. B+W makes excellent filters.

**Q: Anyone tried XF23 f2 and f1.4 and chose one over the other? I love the compactness of the f2, but are there situations where the 1.4 is vastly better?**
A: I love the 23mm f2 very compact ideal for street photography,i don't see much difference (only more $$$$$) the 1.4 lens is heavier, I definetly suggest you are better off with the 23mm

Phenomenal lens. gives an equivalent of 35mm field of view. This is good for all purposes, including portrait. Tho for portraits and shallow field of view, you will need to get up close. Otherwise, a great lens for travel, street and landscape photography. Superb colors and love the contrast that it gets. Weather resistance is another bonus. complement my X-T2 and makes for an extremely small signature on my X-T10. Very sharp and the F2 helps. Happy to happy it as part of my primes trilogy.

Very sharp images. Focus speed is good. If is not meant for low light conditions since it is f2.0. But it is prefect for day time and street photography.
