Rice organic farming

I have one question: Do middle class people not have right to pesticide free food? Each year this price is raised. Govt should step in to regulate organic foods price to realistic levels. I've seen in reputed television programs that Organic Farming's yield is almost the same or even more than inorganic farming. I understand that organic certification must have its cost. Still Rs 89 for 1 kg is too steep for the simple staple of a rice type like Polished SonaMasuri. I do not think that it is a premium variety. Other brands are even more draining on the pocket. Navdanya shops in New Delhi sell organic food items at a huge premium. Choosing Organic should not mean being robbed. That said, it is a good item. We used to eat unbranded inorganic long rice from a local grocery. Earlier, whenever we changed the rice to another type, it used to feel different in the mouth, not just because of the taste. But, that was not the case with SonaMasuri. It feels and tastes as good. Plus the assurance of pesticide free meal. But, this rice is priced too high.

Good quality and clean rice but bit costly.

Tastes good. Hopefully organic! Hopefully good for the health. Would suggest to buy as it comes in numerous quantities. One could always pick the one that fits their requirement. No difference in cooking.

Getting Sona Masuri rice of this quality has been difficult for South Indians especially in the north above Delhi. Quality of the rice has been good at this price range.
