No. If you try to cut big fruit it will not go straight. It gors from middle of the fruit to the side. I csnt even cut papaya straight. It is good onlh for small fruits and tomatoes.

Not at all. Not required to sharpen it even after using it for more than 2 years. One of the best knives.
