Review: Excellent clay - I recently discovered a package of Van Aken clay that I bought 25 years ago and had put away and forgot. To my happy surprise, it was still in excellent condition. I bought a new package of the same clay and was happy to see that the quality was still great after all these years. The sculpture in the photos is a combination of both the old and new Van Aken clay. The Sculptor Grey has a great consistency, it's not tacky, and creates very sharp details. I did try the Van Aken Black and was not impressed with that. I do highly recommend the Van Aken Sculptor Grey.

We had to order oil based clay for business reasons and got a brick of this stuff. from the first time I started to work with it, I knew that my personal relationship with sculpting had suddenly changed for the best. It's on the firmer side and holds details rather well. I love it. And the fact that i can keep reusing it over and over is awesome.

I recently discovered a package of Van Aken clay that I bought 25 years ago and had put away and forgot. To my happy surprise, it was still in excellent condition. I bought a new package of the same clay and was happy to see that the quality was still great after all these years. The sculpture in the photos is a combination of both the old and new Van Aken clay. The Sculptor Grey has a great consistency, it's not tacky, and creates very sharp details. I did try the Van Aken Black and was not impressed with that. I do highly recommend the Van Aken Sculptor Grey.
