I tried using it several different ways and felt no difference. I am Native American and white... my hair is naturally curly, I usually don't use hair products on my hair... maybe mousse or hairspray, but my hair is dry so I thought I'd try this oil. I heated the oil and left on my hair for hours, heated the oil and used with coconut oil and left it on, and just put the oil on my hair at room temperature and left on for hours. No difference. I hated the smell of this castor oil, it smelled like really old peanut butter or something. The smell would still be in my hair after several washes. My hair seemed to respond a lot better to coconut oil by itself so I guess that's what I will use. Everyone's hair is different so I wouldn't say that I wouldn't recommend this, but just giving my experience with it. I've been using it for almost 1 month. I KNOW it works because I have all these little gray hairs sprouting out, that I didn't before. So now I have to get my hair colored again.YET... I notice hair re-growing in certain areas, not in all the areas I applied it, or where I was hoping for re-growth.The smell doesn't bother me at all, it does have that "nutty" scent. But I can see how it could bother others.Apply: I would apply this to my scalp about 3 nights a week, massaging it in to the barer areas, then combing it through the hair for the beautiful shine. I would throw my hair in a pony tail and put a towel over my pillow and let it soak in over night. After showering in the morning my hair was SILKY SMOOTH, and shiny.Unfortunately I have to stop using this product (the only one I've ever found to work), because I had an allergic reaction to it. Please don't let that stop you from trying it!
